That's the thing with these types of giveaways. It's so fun that you forget there are prizes involved. The downside is, it has to end. Good job on describing/narrating some of the fights btw. You were really into them. :D

No question about it, here's a very loud round applause to Doc, Punington, TheDudeLebowski, krugos2 and Carradice, for making this thread a very fun read and look forward to, for such an enduring length of time, and with so many resources to keep track of everything (not to mention the visual representations and artworks) :) I think I can safely say it's unanimous that your collective time and effort, along with the entrants, resulted in an all-around amazing event! Engaging group storytelling at work, thread-wide.

Congrats final 4 on your big win. Hope y'all pick some really nice titles. And thanks Punington for helping out Doc on some fights, krugos2 and TheDudeLebowski for their Fight Club website, Carradice for the character surveys, everyone who took the time to create and even roleplay their unique characters in this thread and finally Doc for making such a cool giveaway. I've got a epilogue to post for my character but I'll wait 10 minutes to prevent that from merging with this post.

Oh, what a great effort, by Doc but also by the others who joined in to help. This truly was a community event, thoroughly enjoyable and completely free of, well, what usually tends to soil such things. Really bringing back a spirit I thought forever lost from here.

That'd be quite enough of a reward in itself, without even getting to Doc's insanely huge list of games to be handed out.

So a huge thank you to the shadowy ringmaster, thank you to his aides, and to all who took part. Congratulations to the winner and the runner up, and if I dare say what a nice way for the final battle to play out as well. Also congratulations with the other two grand prize winners, and I dare say Axela the Lighthouse was a surprisingly suitable choice for that last random slot.

I wouldn't dare take part in the surveys, too many good efforts to have any way to be fair. So, again, thank you to all who took part. Rather sad that it's over.

Epilogue (Ben Kii Nobi)

Ben Kii Nobi walks amongst the former combatants congratulating the winners while also steering clear of Mother of all Mother In-Laws (She's quite frightening). While looking for the winners his eyes catch sight of Og'rialt in a pink tutu and chuckled at the sight of him. He shook the hands of the person who defeated him in combat, Celia, and congratulated her on her victory as well as congratulate Jack the Knack for his long survivability in the arena and Axela the Lighthouse who was given an honorable mention from the Shadowy Ringmaster. And finally of course Mr. Chip. Ben Kii Nobi gave the cute puppy a Krayt Dragon bone to gnaw on and a nice pet behind his ears.

Suddenly a bell chime rings out in the arena followed by a loud echoey voice "Captain, we've arrived at the source of the signal."

Ben Kii Nobi presses his hand to the right side of his chest. "I'm on my way. Computer, end program."

The arena and people fade away and reveals a yellow wire frame room. Ben Kii Nobi's costume is then replaced with that of a Starfleet Captain's uniform. It was Captain BenKii of the starship Ragnarok. The Captain leaves the Holodeck and makes his way to the bridge.

*turbolift doors swoosh open to the bridge*

"Ah, Captain, I trust you had a good time on the Holodeck with Super Smash Bros Ultimate? Did you win?" said first officer Kyper.

"Sadly no. I did come close though with a 7th place finish. I find it quite amazing that after 300 years Nintendo still continues to add new characters to their game. Out of a million characters, I was able to witness 114 unique characters. Many of them were astounding. Some were quite horrifying and a few were a bit weird."

The first officer nodded in agreement, "Indeed, with the end of copyright laws in the late 21st century, Nintendo added many fascinating characters to their roster. I should make some time to try the game out myself."

"Perhaps after we investigate this anomaly, we'll make a co-op run of it." BenKii says contentedly as he now turns his attention to the situation on the bridge, "Now, what's the report on the signal?"

Science officer Caitlin gave her report, "It appears to be a probe, Captain. Aside from the signal its transmitting, it doesn't appear to have any other power signatu-" ,her console beeps a warning. "Wait! Captain! The probe is powering up. Its scanning us."

"Shields up!", ordered Kyper.

"Belay that." countered BenKii, "Let's wait and see what it does. we don't want to come off as threatening."

After the probe finished scanning the ship, BenKii asked, "What did it scan?"

Caitlin replied, "Sir, it looks like it scanned our Computer libraries and accessed the last program used on the holodeck..." she looks up from her console quizzically, "Super Smash Bros."

"What could it want with that?", says Kyper.

Caitlin's console beeped again but this time with an even higher pitched warning sound. "Sir, the probe is building energy at a phenomenal rate. Its going to explode!"

"Raise shields! Back us away from it. Full impulse power!" ordered the Captain.

As the Ragnarok backed away from the probe, the probe exploded in a sudden flash of light, leaving behind a distortion field in its wake. The Ragnarok was far enough away from the explosion and only suffered minor damage to their shields. The Captain replied, "Report."

The Science officer regained her bearings and gave her report, "Sensors show a tear in the space/time continuum where the probe once was. And... Captain something is coming out of it."

Out of the distortion field a single ship of unknown origin came into view.

"Hail them." said Captain BenKii, "This is Captain BenKii of the USS Ragnarok. We are an exploratory vessel and wish you no harm."

A familiar voice replied back, "Hello there Captain, I'm Ben Kii Nobi. A fancy meeting my doppelganger. I sense something has gone awry and I don't need the Force to tell me that."

"What the devil?!" exclaimed the Captain. He turns to his Science officer, "Lieutenant, how is this possible?"

"When the probe scanned the Holodeck program, it must've used the data from the game and opened a portal to another reality where those characters exist."

"Then that means..." as the Captain's voice trails off, an entire planet comes out of the portal registering on sensors as having 1 million life signs. "....all 1 million characters from Smash Bros now exist in our reality?"

The implications of an entire game of fantastical characters coming into reality were very worrisome but all Captain BenKii could think of to say in that moment was, "Cool."
