kai2: From what I've heard "Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League refund" has raced to the top of searches.
avatar
amok: then you should really check your sources... as far as i can see, it is not even on the top 100 searches this week...

I dont get it, The game is not very good, in fact I think it is bad. but why do people have to lie about it?
While you are correct and the video I watched seems to have been hyperbolic...

"... search engine results to find out a means to refund Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is nearly up 800% after its initial release through early access."

https://gameranx.com/updates/id/488612/article/suicide-squad-kill-the-justice-league-how-to-refund-the-game/

"Searches for 'Suicide Squad refund' surge 791% following the game's early access launch 'disaster'...
... Google Trends data reveals a near 800% spike in searches revolving around refunding the game, triggered by the game's offline maintenance periods."

Ancient-Red-Dragon: I read an article about how that game has Harley Quinn murder Batman by shooting him in the head, which is ludicrous.
avatar
andysheets1975: *LOL* Harley really has become WB's version of Wolverine. They'll probably have her kill Superman and Darkseid by whacking them with her hammer.
I think they already had her defeat Darkseid and basically everybody else in that new cartoon series of hers, but I'm not sure as I'm not watching it. There definitely was some confrontation with Darkseid, which is idiotic enough in itself, regardless of how it went. I'm impossibly sick of Harley. She was an ok character on batman TAS, but they turned her into something unrecognisable, wholly nonsensical and in most cases quite insufferable.

If I'm remembering right, the arc was something about Harley no longer recognising herself, she joined Darkseid for a short time, staged a short invasion, then changed her mind.

you do realise that the 800% increase only has a meaning if you know how big the original number was? if it in EA had 1 person googling for a refound, it means 8 people did id after.... also take in account how many people bought in it EA and how many people bought it after. also take in account the people who do buy EA games, and those that do not and differentce in possible acceptance / interest in the game.

not trying to be an ass here, but that is meaningless

Reminds me how in the shitstorm after CP2077 launch people were saying CDPR is going out of business because MILLIONS refunded it, and when they published reports, actual numbers turned out to be 40k copies or something meaningless like that.

The only version of her that I really recognize is the one from the original animated series. It seems like people just can't stand the idea of her being a tragic, rather foolish character. They need her to be cooler and more capable than she ever truly was.

Exactly. She became popular, so they kept changing her and changing her to make her more marketable to a wider audience, because the original was an interesting but ultimately limited character. Now she's sort of a "ship of Theseus" thing - a different costume, different personality, no relationship with the Joker. It's really a whole different character, just the same name. Like you say, she was ultimately a tragic character in TAS, now she's basically Deadpool with boobs.

What I'm getting from this thread is that the game isn't ready yet, if ever.

THESLITHERYDEE: What I'm getting from this thread is that the game isn't ready yet, if ever.
Likely never. Afterall i bet none of the original staff who did the Arkham games are still around.

I'll say Gaming peaked about 10 years ago.

Well, today i played about 6 hours of Enshrouded, followed by Shapez 2 demo, before I ended the evening now living the life in Shadows of Doubt.

Personally, I think gaming is going stronger than ever.

Not only do I get to play great new games like these which are fantastic, but if I want I can go back to the personal favorites like Psychonauts or Skyrim when i want. And judging by the last year and many of the games announced for this year - it is only getting better.

The Suicider Squad seems like one of those accursed franchises; misfortune seems to be attracted to it.

And I tend to agree with what the other posters said of the strange directions they're so fond of taking characters like HQ at a master editorial level so nobody can override a derailed character.

Remember when someone who claimed to be Batman called Jason Todd a hard R and made him subsist on rats? (AS:BAR)

Remember when Wonder Woman took over the world and that other time she became an edgy liar who wore a newsprint dress?

Remember when the meek member of the X-Men suddenly when crazy, grew horns, and did an eco-terrorism? (X-MEN: GREEN)

Hey, remember the time Superman had to defeat a supercomputer on a post-apocalyptic Earth? WITH GUNS? (Okay, that one was an elseworlds...)

Ooh, how about that time when Spider Man sold his marriage to Mephisto, because SPIDER MAN can't be shown as an adult with a functional life? (ASM: One More Day)

Youngbloods. Full stop.

Or that time when Batman & Superman inexplicably went to arms because the concept was no deeper than, "What if Batman met Mario?" I have to say, it did surprise me to see a concept this dumb get a movie adaptation, but then again Frank Miller seems to have a golden touch when it comes to cursing us with movies.
By all indications this will be the end of what passes as Rocksteady studios. Another one bites the dust.

Yeah, the reviews are Savage.

Add Suicide Squad to Gotham Knights and it really does feel like Rocksteady is anything but. Is this as big as Volition's failure (enough to bring down the studio)? Dunno... Rocksteady has a few more hits in their catalogue that may buy them more time, but dunno...?

Guess that Superman game will probably never release

Hurricane0440: Has anyone here played the game yet?
Not really.

Over the years I've created an immunity for everything containing or associated with the words or combination of words like, Marvel Universe, Star Wars, DC Comics, Disney and a bunch of others.

amok: i really dont care.... the game looks good, it is clear, the characters are distinct, it is colorful, it is fluid.
Does it really look good, though? Even if I judge it on its own merit, I still find the graphics and visual style lacking. The colors used are often bland, there is very little detail in many of the environments and the UI is extremely cluttered to the point it's annoying.

According to what I heard, Suicide Squad was the game they were working on from the start. There never was any other Superman game.
