I took the wife to see it and we had a blast. It was so self aware and stupid that it just worked. Sadly, it seems that people do not realise how silly Deadpool can be. My cousin was expecting another goody two shoes like Captain America. Also parents taking kids, there were a few in my screening... iv never seen parents move so fast before (sex scene).

I saw the movie on saturday with my son, and we both enjoyed the hell out of it. I was not even aware that it was R rated, but I'm glad that it was. Trying to make a PG-13 Deadpool movie would have ended in disaster.

The only thing that annoyed me slightly was that you never saw Colossus change. He apparently walks around in "steel" mode even when he's just loafing around at the school.

Incidentally, the Deadpool game is 50% off on Steam for another 10 hours or so, if anyone should feel inclined to get it.

I didn't like Ryan Renolds, until after I left the theatre. Can hardly think of someone who can deliver better one liners and is more perfect for Deadpool it turns out. Oddly, I think it was rated M-16+ here.

Me neither, plus I use to think Deadpool as a character was a bit too goofy for his own good (but then again I didn't know much about him and my knowledge was mostly rooted on Imgur posts and such). But by the end of the movie, I liked the character and Reynolds' portrayal of him. GF liked the movie even more than I did, saying it was one of the best movies she had ever seen. So, thumbs up and recommendations!

Well, my attempt to see it yesterday with a friend ended up as nothing but frustration. I guess it was because of the damned Valentines. Looks like it's catching on around here too, unfortunately. The crowds were insane. We couldn't even find a parking space at any theatre/mall. And when we finally got to one, late to all the showings but one we'd have to wait an hour for, it turned out all the decent seats are already taken. At that point we just gave up. I haven't seen crowds like that even during shopping before Christmas. We haven't had trouble parking before Star Wars! Crazy day. I guess I'll see it on DVD, unless some of my friends are in town the next weekend. I'm just glad it's Deadpool, and not something I really badly wanted to see. I mean, it's Deadpool. At best it's stupid, dumb, fun. At worst, crude and cringeworthy.
