zeogold: Not sure what "choose government" is supposed to mean, but yes, with the next fascist policy, the president when that policy is passed will do an investigation. The same person cannot be investigated twice in the same game, so he'll have to investigate somebody besides Blotunga.
So do we have a government or not?
So all votes are in. ZFR and Trent were right, this game is slow. I wonder if we could do a speed play of a whole game sometime where we all commit to be online for a certain period and play none stop.

avatar
ZFR: See, this is what I don't get.

I too want someone who I know won't discard it. Which means that if there was a big chance of getting an L, I'd want the most trustworthy people in government, so they can pass it. If there was a small chance of getting it, I wouldn't mind other people. You are saying it the other way round.
avatar
JoeSapphire: I'm not saying it the other way round - That makes it sound like I'm saying we want less trustworthy people in government once Ls have been shuffled back in - I want me in government, and then if we're still playing I'd want you (ZFR) in government. These are my three most trusted players right now.

You imply there's a small chance of getting the L, so you wouldn't mind other people (or perhaps you're just doing rhetoric) but in this situation there isn't a small chance of getting an L - there's a big chance of getting an L, and a big chance of not getting an L.

rtcvb summed up my logic here: "60% chance of an L being drawn from the 5 cards. So long as two liberals are handling it, yeah a 4th one would be passed."

I go on to say that, if the president was not liberal, there would be no reason not to remove the L. No repercussion and minimal loss of trust.

But, it's a vote and no-one seems to agree with me so let's go with all y'alls's stupid plan and when we all lose I can say I told you so.
While this is late and everyone has voted so a redundant point. But you do realise there is the chance there are no L cards left in the deck? If Pooka is fascist (40%) and he drew a Liberal Card (I think it was 40% chance but I may have misremembered), then there are no Liberal cards left. So 16% if I calculate correctly

So only an 84% chance of an L card and if there is a 60% chance of drawing. So in actual fact 0.84 x 0.6 - 50.4% chance of drawing a Liberal. Ofcourse that's assuming the other 3 presidents told the truth about the cards they discarded, which certainly isn't a given.

Sorry I thought that we were at the stage of Fascist powers where we may be choosing President but apparently we are not.
I see nothing has really changed, guess I'll go watch some more paint dry

I forgot to say this in my last post and couldn't edit it because of the rules, but I wish you a belated happy birthday!

Yes, I'm up for the idea of gathering together at one point in time and playing non-stop to get this game a little more up to speed if not done with.

Ditto...

PBP games take too long...

I note that, since you increased your age by a full year, you're beginning 50% of your sentences with the letter 'i'.

Pokes zeo. Pooka says he voted before the announcement. Can we move on?
The votes are in! The results are as follows.
1. Zenefredi F. Rapoposculous, the Great (ZFR) - YES
2. Tap-Happy Trent (trentolf) - YES
3. Apollo "Prime Form" Jones (SirPrimalform) - NO
4. Grimsby "The Pooka" Mustard (PookaMustard) - YES
5. Liftin' Rasil and the Raisin' Hell Band (Lifthrasil) - YES
6. Supple Scene (supplementscene) - YES
7. The Mighty Blotunga (blotunga) - YES
8. RT-CB (v.3.2) (rtcvb32) - YES
9. Flub. (flubbucket) - YES
10. Captain Sapphire (JoeSapphire) - NO

The government is approved!
The president and chancellor (Lifthrasil and blotunga) are now bound to silence until a policy is passed.

Please, no flash photography. It startles the stars.

So a new government passed. Why didn't you vote for it SPF? Joe has sort of explained why he didn't.

Hopefully we get a policy passed quickly @liftrasil and @blotunga

No. You didnt say what rtcvb did.
Rtcvb said he wants trustworthy people because there is a big 60% chance of drawing an L. Which is what I agree with comlletely.
You said you want trustworthy people because there is a big (40% which you called big) chance of not drawing L which I just don't get.
@Joe read your first post. Its the opposite of what you say now. You say now you want trustworthy liberals because there is a good chance of L appearing and you want them to pass it which was my sentiment from the start.

But in your first post you said you want trustworthy liberals because there is a good chance of L not appearing which didnt make sense to me.

So which is it?

(And yes Id always like to have trustworthy liberals. But then Id say I always want them. Not first Id say I want them because X and then say I want them because not X)

Possibly double post since previous might not have shown up. Waiting 10 mins to be safe.

I suspect Blotunga of being fascist. I'm not also especially convinced about Pooka being liberal and thus I find his investigation result makes him look worse in my eyes rather than Blotunga better.
