Alexim: The point is that nobody here has said that if a game doesn't have the achievements it shouldn't be sold on GOG, and certainly I don't demand it.
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/request_for_companies_like_thq_nordic_to_add_to_their_games_the_same_options_as_steam_achievements/post32 And I quote:
GOG's policy should be that publishers are not ever allowed to sell any games on GOG that are less-featured than their Steam counterparts, or that in any way gimp the user experience in comparison to the Steam version
Alexim: Also the wishlist is limited to ask respectfully that the users of GOG are treated with equal dignity compared to those of other platforms. One thing we definitely all agree on, starting with updates that do not take months and months to get on GOG compared to Steam.
In general level yes, but as I said in my first message to this thread, to me the wishlist item is at least implying that such games, that lack achievements while the Steam version has them, are not welcome to the store, and with that implication I strongly disagree. I want the games to the store, even if they are missing achievements. Hence, I am personally treating that wishlist item as one that "sign it only if you care about Galaxy achievements". I don't.
As for e.g. lack of updates on GOG version, that kind of wishlist item I could sign and probably have signed such already, but even that is not black and white to me. For instance, I am generally fine with updates appearing later to the GOG version, and maybe sometimes skipping some of the updates (if they are going to integrate some later update to the GOG version anyway). And if an update is very Steam-centric or otherwise non-critical, then I might be fine even if the GOG version is lacking it.
Also there I rely more on the power of my wallet. If I see some publisher abandoning the GOG version just because they don't care, then I probably won't be buying any more games from such publishers, not even on Steam (unless it would be a really must have game for me, but I very seldom see such games nowadays that I can't live without; there are just so many choices nowadays). And if I'd see GOG versions routinely missing critical updates (ever) and GOG apparently not giving a shit about it, then I would probably start buying less and less from GOG in general.
By the power of my mighty wallet...
