UnReal World is a unique combination of roguelike roleplaying game and survival simulation – and it’s now available on GOG, alongside its Enhanced Soundtrack and a Bundle of both titles!

As a member of one of the nine different cultures you'll enter a detailed and enchanting iron-age game world in which northern folklore, knowledge and way of life play an important part. The world and mechanics of the game are highly realistic, rich with historical atmosphere and emphasized on survival in the harsh ancient wilderness.

Now on GOG!
I've never even played this game. True story.

I just don't understand why this game hasn't been released in GOG before. The devs don't like DRM-free, hmmmmmm? i bet the Steam version had Denuvo.

I will buy the game but only because it is a Finnish game. And because people seem to praise it for some reason. No other reason, really. And because I am expecting Epic to try to cancel the game for using the name Unreal, and not even using the Unreal engine.

The devs tried to release it on GOG almost ten years ago. Alas...those were the times of the dreaded GOG Curation.
Fortunately they decided to finally correct a grave mistake.

Caveat Emptor: if you don't like roguelike sandbox games (like Project Zomboid) you won't like this. But if you're into hardcore survival games, this is a classic of the genre (it was first released in 1992). Fun fact: back when GOG rejected the game I used to hate roguelikes and such. After all these years I started to develop a taste for some of them.

Not sure. I used to love ADOM back in the day, the ASCII-only version. I save-scummed constantly, though. (Ie. copied the save game file elswhere every now and then, just to make sure I don't lose all my progress just due to some trap or enemy that instantly kills me, or a potion that changes me into a worm.)

YES!

Twas on my list of "Community Wishlist games that seem like they'd be easier to bring compared to others" that I passed along to staff a year or two ago. It made it there because it was relatively high on the Wishlist, with over 1,000 votes.

And I'm sure others have suggested it.

Please remember to vote folks! https://www.gog.com/dreamlist/ (Admittedly, personally I still use the Community Wishlist to look for suggestions, but that'll eventually change.)

(Oh, but please only vote if you want to buy the game here. :P)

I played some of this elsewhere and had some fun. Sure, I'll gladly pay half off to play Finland man simulator.
Oh, didn't see this coming, after the original rejection.

Hm, the last free version is four years old next month?
