You will engage in over 14 varied missions across enormous open plains, far reaches of space, and tight corridors of the enemy's control ships. Strike back against the separatist aggressors and ultimately save the peaceful planet of Naboo.

Dawnreader: Good and fun sim! Thx GOG!

marsrunner: Good? Yes. Fun? Sure. Sim? Not even remotely.
It is according to the gamecard (under "Genre" on the right). Wouldn't have been my choice of classification either, though. =)

Yeah, no. Its an Arcade Shooter. The X-Wing/TIE Fighter series are simulation games. I do enjoy all of them, though, just completely different genres.

Wait...are you saying GOG has lied to us? Pff. I suppose next you'll try to tell me that not every "Old" game they've sold here is actually "Good"....
Great game, purchased, thanks GOG!
Question: Is the PC version of Starfighter the same as the Xbox Special Edition version? I can't find concrete information other than the same developer made both ports after the Playstation 2 version was released.

Zygon: Question: Is the PC version of Starfighter the same as the Xbox Special Edition version?
No. The Xbox version has multiplayer while the PC version supports higher resolutions. Other than that, it's the same.

So, quoting IGN "For the Xbox Special Edition release, the game has been expanded with five new bonus missions as well as new and expanded two player modes."

So it does have the five bonus missions but not the two player mode, right?

Yes. All bonus missions and playable ships are on the PC version.
One of the few Star wars games that I never bought. By the timethis was released, I stopped buying flyers that needed joysticks to play.

I never understood why they released this one on Windows but not the sequel (Jedi Starfighter). They are both poor imitations of the Rogue Squadron series, but still fun nonetheless.

Oh, and if you want a 360 controller to work, Xpadder is your friend.
Thx for suggestions. <dull beggar mode on>But wait do you actually know how to fly on SW small ships? I thought SW is the imaginary universe </dull beggar mode off> ;)

ReaverT: I'm kinda disappointed with the 3 releases of today; all of them have been on Steam for a long long time; wasted chance by GOG.com to add some unreleassed classics such as Rebel Assault (I and II) , Outlaws, or even Shadows of the Empire 3 games that are still unaccounted for on digital release.

Instead, todays batch is just 3 games that were allready on Steam, and not worth the price for them, except Jedi Knight perhaps, as Starfighter is the poor mans verssion of Rogue Squadron and Republic Commando was a shoter which it's best feature was teammates A.I, not groundbreaking in terms of dessign, graphics or lenght.

As said, wasted chance by GOG to be even more ahead tan Steam in terms of Lucasarts games.

I'm sorry to be this critic, but after having enjoyed the last week 5 games that never saw the light on digital release and not having for this final batch any more of those it's really disappointing.

sherringon456: I know although I would rather see ep1 racer and battlefront 1 and one of the ones you suggested. They need digital distribution more.
+1 for battlefront 1. IMO, it was better than the second one, cannot be bought digitally, and unlike the second one, the first one does not work properly with new systems. it's RIPE for a gog release. The only reason I can figure its never been released, on GOG, STEAM, or otherwise, is that the big resolution bug(preventing the change of resolution or video settings) in the first one is so bad that the game engine itself would need re-written, which GOG cant do. I will say that multiple purchases would be made the moment it comes out.
As for the ones released this time, DFII doesnt work right in steam, so its nice to have a working GOG version. RC ive heard also had some issues through steam. While I am happy about the new selection, I will say there were much bigger fruit waiting to be picked than these, and it was a bit of an underwhelming end to wave II (hopefully there will be a wave III!)

GOG.com: Do it for Jar Jar!
And here I was thinking that the blurb was supposed to make us want to buy whatever they’re selling.
