Star Wars™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™, an Obsidian developed sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed RPGs of all time, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 20% launch discount!

Star Wars™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™ is set five years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic™, offering a much darker and more mature take on the period of galactic turmoil introduced with the first game. The Jedi are all but exterminated, fallen in the hands of powerful Sith Lords. You would be too - had you not been exiled for horrible war crimes against the order, your link to the Force completely severed. You drift, broken, across unknown space as the terrifying Sith threat returns to finish what they have begun. You will be made to question everything you know about Jedi and the Sith, as you strike back and touch the Force for one last time. The rest is your own history...

Star Wars™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™ offers a chance to experience the grit and darkness of the Star Wars™ universe. Available DRM-free for Windows, now on GOG.com! The 20% launch discount will last for 72 hours until Friday, January 23, at 1:59 PM GMT.

Impaler26: Already have the game on Steam so i'll pass. :D
While I understand why you usually post this, GOG had plenty of reasons of its own to bring this title here ASAP, but the negotiations with LucasArts (and then Disney) took a long time. So in this case, I don't think telling them that they should have brought it here sooner will make much of a difference. If they could have, chances are that GOG would have brought this title here already back in 2008.

In any case, I loved the original KOTOR, so I will be getting this. I just hope someone will confirm whether or not the restoration mods work alright.
Truly magical RPG!

phaolo: What's the best, KOTOR 1 or KOTOR 2 ?

Karahandras: Despite what you're reading here, it's the first one. Although the second isn't that different from the first it's not as well written(not that the script for the first is anything to write home about) and has a big chunk of the storyline missing(guess they had to release before it was finnished).
That's some info I really needed, thanks!
This looks great. I have KOTOR 1 on CD, but never got very far. Tempted to buy them both on sale and sell the CDs on ebay.
still doesn't play correctly on my comp :(.
i have never been able to get tsl to work with my system, this is the 3rd version of the game i've attempted.

my video card gets a yellow warning, but not a red no go.

since i'm not tech savy, and this isn't a help desk i guess i'm just screwed.

kotor 1 runs fine, but tsl, nope.

Haven't specifically tried the GOG version (and I would have assumed they included this) but try this one just to see:

So, um, does anyone know if the title is trademarked?

Nirth: I'm not planning to play this game now but just curious, anything else out there that might add to the game other than the Restoration Mod? I've that M4 planet as well.

I read on moddb something about Extended Enclave but that might not be compatible with TSLRCM but I have no idea.
Add to the game in terms of just cut content? I think you named the big ones. There's been a couple different projects for both the GenoHaradan and Sleheyron, but neither have been finished and released (as far as I know).

There are also a few visual mods out there that look pretty nice. I'm partial to the high-poly tin cans and flickering lightsaber blades mods, since they make it look nice without changing much. And some ambient sound and music improvement mods, but I didn't notice those as much.

i appreciate the suggestions, but more than likely i will have to wind up eventually upgrading my computer at some point, just don't have the money to spend on doing something like that for quite a while.

thanx anyways guys.

i did try that vista fix, didn't help.

it is the same long time symptom as everyone reports though, crashes right after character creation and the asteroid field intro movie, after which you play as t4 on the ebon hawk tutorial mission.
Instabought (along with previously wishlisted KOTOR 1). I hope this is compatible with that "content restoration mod" :)
I think I'm overjoyed! Thanks, GOG! I'm sure you've made a lot of people happy by bringing KOTOR2 here. Seeing both KOTOR 1&2 here DRM-free truly makes me so happy. :D

There's absolutely no point in playing this game without the Restored Content Mod
In case you are concerned with the TSLRCM (restored content mod), the guys from moddb.com have officially adressed gog.com users: moddb.com/mods/the-sith-lords-restored-content-mod-tslrcm ("latest news", a bit further down, posted on Jan 21st)

"As the GOG-version is just released, we don't quite know what changes have been made to the executable. Hopefully we'll soon have some sight on that. TSLRCM *should* be completely compatible.
Having said that, an update was in the works, [....] as the update isn't finished yet, we please advise new gamers to wait a few days till the updated version is released, [...] but seeing how clearly many GOG-players found us here I believe this warning is in place to prevent people to having to re-download over 100MB very soon again.
(Note; since it was made before the GOG-version the GOG-version will not be acknowledged in the readme, check carefully for install locations!)"

Anyways, great release - I´m looking forward to playing it just another time :)
Still have yet to finish the first KOTOR, but am picking this one up for sure. Passed on it when it was in retail, and kind of regretted it since (even though I knew it would likely still be in my back-log even to this date).
