Raising anthills of glass and steel.

Project Highrise, a high-reaching building/management game with jazzy sensibilities, is available now for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and a 10% launch discount.

From the outside, skyscrapers look like capitalism-bred monstrosities, towering over the less privileged citizens and storeowners below them. But once you get to observe -and indeed build- their insides, it becomes apparent that they're in fact intricate ecosystems, surviving on a delicate balance of functionality, ambition, and profit. In Project Highrise, every store, apartment, or office floor is designed and arranged by you. You are responsible for the constant well-being and prosperity of this expanding vertical sandbox, so the tenants and employees of the building expect you to rise to the occasion. But sustaining a densely-populated, prestigious skyscraper is not enough: you must keep an eye out for opportunities that will make your construction future-proof and increasingly more desirable.

Plan, build, and curate the most awe-inspiring Project Highrise in town, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 10% launch discount will last until September 15, 10:59 AM, UTC.

styggron: As others have said, LGR did a fantastic review on Youtube although why he did not tell us anything about elevators and how they work or even IF they are manageable in Highrise is surprising..

mistermumbles: As far as I can tell from that video they just act as teleporters, more or less. When six open up at the same time on the same shaft... yeah, there's not much going on there other than getting people from one floor to another a bit faster than stairs.
That is a massive disappointment I fear. At this price and no elevator management, it's going to be a wait until a sale and even at that, needs to be $10 or around that. :(

I really can't believe they left out elevator management............... :( please devs if you're reading this......please put elevator management back in. It really added a fantastic element to the game.
Fantastic game, bought it on day 1 here on gog.com - would have pre-ordered it, because I knew it was going to be good and worth the 18 bucks. Well worth, in fact.

Too bad we didn't get the pre-order option here on gog.com *however* we got a 10% discount, the Steemorooneys have to pay full price :)
Unfortunately a yet another example of the recent tendency of bringing a modern and rather so-so clone instead of the original game. I would have bought SimTower without questions, but not this, sorry.

So any of the smart guys ( for example Barry_Woodward ) asked the developer about the mod / patch support of the Gog version ?

Cavalary: Actually expected to see it say SimTower included here. Bit surprised they could even publish such an obvious copy without the rights for the original, especially considering who has the rights for that.
Last I checked game mechanics weren't protected by copyright or, if they theoretically are, it's unenforceable and that's only good for the entire medium and industry.

SimTower was ok, but it was an elevator sim. This is an economy and management sim for a tower building. It's basically what SimTower looked like, judging by screenshots - but SimTower was about one thing and one thing only: manage elevators.
