Get medieval on GOG.com with King Arthur’s Gold. Now available DRM-free for 25% off! The special release promo will last until Thursday, January 15th, at 10:59AM GMT.
The zombie fort mod for this game is fantastic. It was removed from KAG in beta and is now maintained by players. Instead of a match or round style survival game, what you get is a slow (and arguably hopeless) contest of base building vs zombies digging their way to your base. This you combat mainly by building and protecting traps and other defenses, while working your way toward the spawn gates in order to blow them up.

There's a question as to whether this game can be won, as this would require killing every spawn gate and somehow managing the main spawns on the surface, where the monsters pop out of thin air. It probably depends on which map is used. The process is frankly kind of grueling as the game can easily go on for hours. I usually join, help out with whatever people are working on, and then peace out when it starts to wear on me. Seldom is there any closure, but the feel of this game is so unique it can be a lot of fun anyway.

If you decide to pick up KAG, please toggle on modded servers in the listing and watch for active zombie fort games. We're badly outnumbered and zombies are really, really gross and mean.
This game is brilliant if you look for jump in, help a bit, have fun, repeat.
Can be frustrating just like every multiplayer, team based game though ; )
It's amazing how this game evolved. It gets better and better in places where you wouldn't think it can get better.
I'm not saying MM is god of design but he's at least half god \o/

I am glad that we got to a point in time, in which I can abstain from Steam or AAA games (synonym for inferior gameplay than in my youth) for good, and again have new great multiplayer games to play.
Thanks for the feedback guys!

We're working on new updates for KAG and a new game based on it's improved engine, called Trench Run. The features we add when working on the engine (like shaders, joypad support) can then be used by KAG modders, for example.

Great to hear from you, tempsanity!
Controller support is a major deal for most of us, I'd say.
Just tried KAG on my win 8.1 machine and I gotta say I'm absolutely pleased. What a fun game!
Thanks!

ps: now I'm just waiting for the linux port to appear here ;)

There are tons of Australian players: They're probably even the continent with most clans, competitions and such .. There's always about 1 - 2 full AUS servers.
