SJW's are so busy shouting down people that don't like the new series, calling them sexists and racists and transphobes and whatever the latest virtue-signalling crap is, that they failed to notice just how awful it is. And I'm not talking about the Doctor's sex. I'm talking about the writing, the production, the directing, the preaching, the complete disregard for the cannon. The whole thing is a travesty and should be erased from the franchise forever. (A bit like the last POTUS, whose name escapes me.)

The quality of the series in general is an entirely separate conversation from "ewww the Doctor is a lady!" I stopped watching it because the writing sucks.

And most aren't mad at that.. most ar made that in the series run when they had the old Doctors be a thing in this new one they was sexist to the female doctor for reasons in the older series they would have never been .. Just so they could have the new Doctor bash them for it.. thats a problem .. Bud no one is sexist for hating this Doctor for being female and in a sense the actor in question involved in this game scenario for bad things she has said recently .. I' admit there will of course be outliners would be mad just for its a woman.. but its the context of the lack of Quality and what the actor herself has said recently .. which most would be mad if the roles was flipped too

The post I was obviously responding to was calling for a boycott based on the person playing the Doctor in the game. I don't know how much more clear things could have been. If YOUR actual argument is the show writing, then we have no real disagreement. I think Whittaker is good and is being given bad material.

I have to disagree. There's nothing wrong with her as an actor. I have enjoyed other performances of hers (Did you see Venus?). But she is miscast. The Doctor is supposed to exude wisdom and irritability born of great age and experience. So I prefer older actors in the roll.

Joanna Lumley or Celia Imrie or Ronni Ancona or Miriam Margolyes or Emily Watson or Rebecca Front or Lesley Manville or Tanya Vital or Sarah Alexander or Tamsin Greig or Olivia Colman or any of dozens of other older British actors would have been much better.

Though I doubt even they could have done anything with the turds that pass for scripts these days.

this is almost why i bought it; i find people are too harsh on games meant for phones as they can still be worthy of decent, clever content

im up and down on doctor who as a show, but i read this game is more standalone so why not, right. the price is cheap enough

You realise other than the 3 i mentioned near all were about 40 (minus pond spawn age Matt) when becoming the Doctor - same as Jodie Whittaker. So your entire statement of "So I prefer older actors in the roll." is either false or misguided.

Nah. She's just terrible. I'd have taken the mysterious pre-doctor lady over the one we got. And the writing in these last few seasons has been atrocious.
