Agarest: Generations of War ZERO, the Agarest prequel, is available now for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount!

Agarest: Generations of War ZERO, the prequel to the original trans-generational JRPG wonder, is making it's way to DRM-free PCs worldwide. As a compelling and innovative turn-based RPG, the Agarest series has also always been a unique kind of game - on your adventure, you'll build relationships with your female party members. By the time your story comes to an end, one of them will become the mother of your child - the culmination of your lifetime choices. The game’s Soul Breed system gives you the opportunity to influence each future generation of fighters as your offspring inherits the best of what you, and the partner of your choice, have to offer.
Agarest: Generations of War ZERO expands the original gameplay with new features like Vacation Days: a way to get to know your team a little better (and unlock a few outfits in the process), and a whole new multi-generational story to experience with great keyboard + mouse, or controller, support.

The future is in your hands, in Agarest: Generations of War ZERO - available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The 50% launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, April 28, 9:59 AM GMT.
This seems interesting, but those battle scenes seem confusing.

You don't say! O.o
This has promise...need to check my Steam account and make sure it's not in my back log though.. Need some reviews as well...

Edit - I remember why I don't have these games... tons of expensive DLC turned me off.. I'll pass for now.

It seems the original got slated badly, but this one was received slightly better? All in all I'm not too convinced by this one to be honest.

Not sure if I want to support Ghostlight after what they pulled with Agarest 2. But if I do, it'll most definitely be with a heavier discount than this.

Pass for now.

I just edited my original post.... this got good reviews, but I don't like the expensive DLC model they use...I'll pass at this point.

I don't know about Zero but the first game had a lot of DLC included in the GOG version. And I switched them all off because all the DLC have been nothing but cheats. Like having great weapons right from the start that you can't legitimately get until you are about 3/4th into the game. Or lots of skill points to raise your stats right from the start.

Trust me, if you are serious about playing the game and not just rush through it overpowered you don't need any of the DLCs.
As was the case with the first game, Already have it on Steam. For quite some time. Purchased at a cheaper price.

Still wishlisted of course. I'll double-dip eventually, then never touch my Steam version again.
Aw yes, so many games I want to play are hitting GOG lately. Now, I just badly need more time in the day to be able to play everything. =\
Nice. This was supposed to be less of a grindfest than the original, wasn't it?
