melacio: The majority of the users we want points in the achievements. But there is a minority of user to which it will bother the points in the achievements. It is very sad to see the comments of some users when the achievements are an option that does not bother anyone and who have triumphed in the gaming world.
If GOG are going to add an achievement feature, they might as well do it all the way, and include them the same way as Steam or the various console platforms. As long as they can be disabled, for those who don't like them, I don't see a problem.

It's the same as the Galaxy client, really. Many modern gamers like to have that kind of convenient, multi-feature platform. And as long as GOG keeps it 100% optional, everyone else can just ignore it, and keep playing their games the old-fashioned way.

even then, people who don't like them on XBOX, Steam etc don't have much to moan about. I mean you can disable pop ups and it's not like they can rub it in your face or anything. It's such a silly little thing to complain about. Grumpy old people I think. :P

montcer9012: The score point system only exist in Xbox world and you can acumulate it in order to buy things in the Market Place. It seems a good deal but you have to play LOTS of games in order to get a decent amount just to get a... DLC hahaha. At the end isn't worth it.
no you can't. You can do nothing with these points and I would prefer a system like on playstation where they have bronze, silver, gold and platinium (which is only to show you have all other achievements). The points just feel to arbitrary.
In steam one of the things that more demanding users in the forums Cowal added points in the achievements.Gog has not added points in the achievements, this is a serious error because these things make the difference
I don't think this would be a bad idea. If this gets implemented, it'd be optional, like everything else related to Galaxy.

haha.. Yeah Points are baseless. that is the entire problem. I have played several games that in fact highlight this issue. My absolute favorite is Bullet Witch. Finishing the game on the hardest difficulty was brutal. Seriously hard. Thousands of deaths await you here. At the end you do get an achievement... worth ONE POINT.
Okay, here's the idea! Instead of counting up, they count down! So you start at 0 points, and go into negatives! That way, you aren't comparing phallus, but rather the inverse!
If you want point on the achievements, vote:

If they're going to do achievements (and clearly they are), they should put some kind of score or weighting system to them.

Frankly, I prefer Sony's method with Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum. While getting a 1000/1000 is the same as getting a platinum, it's very easy to distinguish someone's platinums rather than looking at their entire achievement collection to see which games they got 1000/1000. The same sort of applies for the other levels of trophies- racking up a lot of bronzes isn't hard, but getting lots of golds generally shows more skill or dedication to a game.
More options are always better.
