* I say base rate, as most publishers, like 2K, Ubisoft, Capcom, and the few other JP pubs with games on Steam, set a far higher price. For example, Dead or Alive: $35/40ish for US, etc., $70 for Japan (with no pre-order/launch discounts either). Or Resident Evil HD Remaster: $20 in the US, $40 in Japan. Or even Yaiba: Still $70 in Japan despite all other regions getting a 50% permanent price cut.
But as it stands right now. There's no point in buying Witcher 3 on GOG. It's cheaper on Steam and if W1 and W2 are anything to go by, GOG will eventually have a system for claiming a free copy if you purchased elsewhere.
