ZFR: If GoG fixed the prices like steam, then as soon as CAD or YEN gets stronger again, you'd start complaining that it's unfair that your game is more expensive than the ones sold in USD. But it's either or. You can't have it both ways.
Actually, I wouldn't. As long as GOG use a fair pricing model where approximately 90 to 100 yen = 1 dollar (best case scenario, i.e., the base rate Steam uses*), or the daily exchange rate (worst case scenario). But then, I expect you've never seen local pricing in Japan. We tend to pay the equivalent of 100 USD + for anything PC game related. And recently that's rising to nearly 120 USD +.

* I say base rate, as most publishers, like 2K, Ubisoft, Capcom, and the few other JP pubs with games on Steam, set a far higher price. For example, Dead or Alive: $35/40ish for US, etc., $70 for Japan (with no pre-order/launch discounts either). Or Resident Evil HD Remaster: $20 in the US, $40 in Japan. Or even Yaiba: Still $70 in Japan despite all other regions getting a 50% permanent price cut.

But as it stands right now. There's no point in buying Witcher 3 on GOG. It's cheaper on Steam and if W1 and W2 are anything to go by, GOG will eventually have a system for claiming a free copy if you purchased elsewhere.

Shmacky-McNuts: Some may find it amusing that americans literally throw canadian money in the trash. We see it. Get upset. Then go "pfft...garbage*throws it away*".

But who knows if they feel the same way in poland XD
But our money is so much prettier than yours! Your coins and your bills are ugly! :p

I think you're speaking only for yourself, here. I'm certainly not in the habit of throwing ANY currency in the trash, and I've never seen or heard of anyone else getting upset about randomly receiving a Canadian coin in their change. Most businesses here accept (and give out) Canadian coins as if they were the U.S. counterparts, so why should I care that a coin's embossed with a beaver and a queen instead of a president and a monument? It spends the same.

Now, If someone were trying to pay you ALL in Canadian money (bills and all), I could understand being a bit upset.

No. They aren't the same. Go try that crap coin in a vending machine. Besides I even live with canadians that hate that money when in the states =P

Shmacky-McNuts: No. They aren't the same. Go try that crap coin in a vending machine. [...]
Well, no, they don't work in vending machines or pay phones (not that anyone actually uses pay phones anymore) or the like; neither do credit/debit cards, or checks (not that ANYWHERE accepts those anymore). ;)
I guess it partly depends on where you live and what you typically use change for. If literally all you use change for is laundromat, vending machines, tollbooths and that sort of thing, then I suppose receiving coinage those machines won't recognize might be more annoying -- though still not enough to make most people lose their shit and throw money in the garbage. =D

Pay the toll....get borked on that a lot. Pay the machine...there too. Oh and vending machines around moi have a credit card slider ;P

It depends on how close to a city you live. Big cities have strange crap like that mate. You buy a pair of pants out of a machine or a box of soap and all other kinds of crap these days XD

Not sure I'd buy clothing out of a vending machine.... o_O
But yeah, I guess the ol' brain glossed over vending machines with card readers. Probably because there aren't huge amounts of them around here. I'm in the middle of the country, with the nearest really big cities quite a ways away. Nary a toll road or a pants machine for hundreds of miles, I'd wager! =D

Grargar: The first step has been taken. The base price of Witcher 3 is now $47 for Canadians.
Still more expensive than Steam if this 47$ is USD. With the 10% off it is 42.29$ (USD?). If this is USD it means the game is around 50$ and more with the fees asked by bank. The game is 47.99 CDN on Steam which is less than what is asked on GOG if the price on GOG is USD (it's not clear at all the be honest).

With or without the loyalty discount? Steamprices says that the base Canadian price on Steam is 60 CAD.

You can get it on GOG by redeeming your Steam Witcher 1+2 games . Then, the game's price will become [url=http://i.imgur.com/ZjedaZe.jpg]$37.59 (approximately 45.2 CAD).
