Insta-buy. These Enhanced Editions are what got me into Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.

LynetteC: Am I the only one who still feels a little uncomfortable about having access to original, classic versions of games removed, forcing people to purchase the more expensive remakes? (In this case it's £8.09 vs £14.99 without discount)
You're definitely not the only one.
Unfortunately, the blues can't keep the original, separately.
It's their website, but they can't legally change this for us. Not without receiving authorization.
People that just want the original, or don't want to give $$$ to Beamdog, should hurry up.

Nope, of course it would be better to have them still as separate versions here. But I can understand the publisher and gog why they don't do that. The old versions are not gone, that's the most important for me. It's maybe not nice that they are now bundled at a higher price with the enhanced versions, but it's also not a big drama for me. The passionate players who want to play the vanilla versions or to mod the games already have the old versions and newbies or casual players are very likely more interested in the easy-going enhanced editions. At the end there are only few people who will really suffer from that bundling. Again, that's not really good, but also not a big drama.

Awesome. Mostly.

The other enhanced editions are excellent (imo), and this should be no different.

Sucks about taking the stand-alone away, though. And this will be "wishlist/wait for a better sale someday" for me. I've got the original, I don't need another copy (that I'm assuming I can't give away) so it all comes down to "How much do I want to pay for the enhanced edition?" While in principle I would happily pay even twenty bucks for an updated version, reality is a different matter. Looks like I'll have to wait on tax revisions. :-P

I've yet to ever play this one but have heard (and read) nothing but great things. I'm in with the 30% discount. :)

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out.

On the one hand, it kind of sucks charging $20 for an old game. On the other hand, Mac and Linux support without fiddling with Wine as well as fixes and 1080p+ without fiddling with mods.

At least owners of the original get a discount, even if it disappears a week before launch.
I might cave in... (╯ರ ~ ರ)╯︵ ┻━┻
When will be the last day to buy original PST?

Quoting just to let you know that the discount got fixed.

Muad.406: RIP original Torment, i will miss seeing you on the store, knowing that people are buying you and reliving old memories or discovering a great classic. But you will be pulled in favor of a new more expensive version.
A worse version too, no doubt. It saddens me that the originals can't be left alone.

Love the original (with mods that work fine on my rig). Haven't played it in a couple of years now. Think I'll stick with that one & maybe check out the enhanced edition in a few years. By then its reputation (& bug fixes) should be established.

In the meantime, **thank you** to all you folks who are diving right in and doing all that early-adopter work.

I preordered it.
It not like the original will vanish...it is included in the purchase of the Enhanced version, and if you already bought the original,it will still be in your library.
I would like to see what the changes were made. They had better NOT changes the voice acting in the original;one of the best things about the game.
In the GOG Galaxy 1.2 Update announcement, there was special mention that Planescape: Torment was getting Universal Cloud Saves. Does this apply for the Enhanced Edition?
