Jennifer: I backed this on Kickstarter so I'm excited to finally see a release date :D I'm definitely going to redeem it here whenever they send out codes to backers or however they're handling it.
What release date? It's still unannounced.:P Sort of (early 2015).

I don't know yet. It started a little bit after the Project Eternity Kickstarter, so I was thinking another few months after this one comes out, but Wikipedia says the release date got shifted to late 2015 (which surprises me because they released the first novella so I thought that meant the game would be finished soon). I guess that gives me time to finish Witcher 3 first :P

I'm talking about Pillars of Eternity, not Torment 2. :P
The estimated release date is early 2015. Source.

cw8: Getting my KS GOG copy.
Hell yeah!

I take there'll be the option to upgrade from a normal copy to either the Champion or Hero Edition? I hope so at least!

Oh, I see. When the announcement said that the pre-order offer lasts until November 24th I thought that meant that the game comes out that day. Now I'm confused why the pre-order offer would end a few months before the game's release? o_O

This seems to be the case for other stores as well. Without any proof to back this up, I'm suspecting that the game might launch on Early Access on Steam. Don't know what this means for GOG.

Not to be 'that guy', but isn't one of the upsides of DD supposed to be decreased cost by way of not having to raise profits margins to account for packaging and disc production costs?
Release day? Anyone has clear answer on release day? or should one preorder without even knowing when it will be released?

Melvinica: So what are these mystery items going to be ? Any guesses?
??? i see a black cat to the left (onscreen) and either a pumpkin with a bit chewed out or a football helmet to the right (onscreen)

Ah, that makes sense. Have they mentioned doing Early Access at any point? I know there's the beta going on but I didn't think about the possibility of Early Access.

There's still a physical release of the game, which usually means contracts with retail stores that forbid them from releasing the game at a lower price digitally. The retail stores will refuse to carry the game if the digital version is a better deal because then most people will buy it digitally and the store is wasting shelf space on something that won't sell. That's why digital games come out at the same price as retail (although they usually go on sale faster for better discounts).

In spring. I read somewhere so use your money and then gain new money, hopefully making a youtube channel and getting free shirts, perhaps games even. You also can wait like us peasants, it's a horrible feeling, seems like every other person has trousers backwards, even me it chaves my backside. It isn't fun. Games get released and there is many games to play but there is always those which give you hope, so wait games and lower your trousers, slap some powder on your ass and sit down, we have all seen hype. it makes games worse. =)

Source.

"The Backer Beta is initially being released only through Steam and only for the Windows platform. We are working hard on bringing Mac and Linux to you guys in the next few weeks. Note that if you are concerned about linking the Backer Beta to the final product, you need not worry -- the Backer Beta is considered a separate product. If you want to participate in the Backer Beta, your final product will not be locked into Steam or Windows."

I wouldn't be surprised if the beta went early access on 24 November.

Yeesh. Do you know if Tides on Numenera is going to have a similar release?
