So all of the installers will now include Galaxy i.e. size will include Xmb per installer extra? This is what is called bloatware, quite a few "free" software includes this type of thing, just find that nicely hidden check box several layers to not fill up your system with garbage.

I shopped here for years as it was an alternative to Steam, unfortunately this constant ramming your client down our throats at every opportunity and degrading those who don't want the client to second rate customers has really put me off buying anything here now. Even without this announcement it was barely "optional", now your stating we can't even download the product without this attached, that is no longer optional in any sense of the word.

Not cool GOG. Stop trying to force Galaxy down our throats. All it causes is problems for those of us who don't want it.

I can see this as a pretext for an announcement a year later:

"Our survey indicated that 99% of our users are using GOG Galaxy, so the use of the client is now mandatory since y'all already using it anyway. Oh, and don't worry, your game is still as DRM-free as always. *winks*"

Seriously!?

Stop trying to force Galaxy down our throats. Right now the only reason I shop on GoG is because I don't want to deal with a damn gaming client. I might as well go back to Steam - at least they have a bigger selection of games (and cheaper too since I can usually get a bunch through humble bundle). The advantage of using GoG for gaming is quickly dwindling.

I've put up with a lot of Galaxy crap - including support almost requiring Galaxy be installed to help. The final straw is quickly approaching where I might just dump GoG altogether. This isn't feeling like a DRM-free place anymore.

I live in the middle of nowhere with next to no bandwidth and shit speed. You know what that means, it means with Galaxy I now have over 800 games that are totally goddamn useless.

If they want to force it on us fine, I want all of the money back I paid them while under the impression this place was DRM free and I wouldn't need an internet connection to play Tyrian for five minutes.

It snows and or rains here 200 days a year and most of that time my internet is on and off. Having to log into a client to play simply isn't an option.

Now the shitty optional client is forcefully added and installed.
Now Galaxy isn't optional anymore, now not using Galaxy is optional.
A subtle difference.

And a larger multi-player base for those of us that do that.
Faster updates.
Actual updates, not full re-dl "patches".
Also actual updates, where steam still has many newer updates & some gog games haven't been touched in years.

And so on and so on.... :/
