(Edit: The entire Myst series) is the newest discount to tumble out of the GOG email-a-lator it seems. A 60% discount, apparently.

Why even bother us with this via mail!? Weren't they cheaper on regular discounts already!? smh

I can't speak for the other games they've done this for, but for realMyst: Masterpiece Edition it's ~$2USD cheaper than it goes on regular sale for, but it isn't the lowest its been factoring in the Steam release (it's been under $5USD on stores selling those keys) and, purely inside of GOG I think it's really close (think within the 10-30 cents range) to the lowest site-wide sale price.

This newsletter discount would make it the lowest, but knowing it's only by a handful of cents is really not the "bait the hook" offer GOG want people to think it is.

Well maybe compared to steam, who can afford to give games for pennies sometimes....but for some games that price is a steal(or decent enough).
