They removed it in IX right?

POLE7645: Considering they're already developping Might and Magic Heroes Online, I don't find this likely (unless they actually think that having to manage two MMOs will give them more profits).

yyahoo: I was pretty sure it was going to be F2P (Ubisoft announced at one time almost all of their PC games were to be F2P). Has that changed?
I haven't heard that one. But to be honest, unless they want only one game in developpement, they won't. It's already hard enough to manage one MMO (or free-to-play games). Why do you think so many World of Warcraft imitators broke their teeth while WOW survived?
No surprise really with the other big publishers having huge RPG franchises like Dragon Age, Skyrim and Witcher. I wouldn't be surprised, what with the decline of the FPS and the rise of RPGs that they become the dominant genre once again.

SovietSharkey: Does this mean that fan made Might and Magic X I have been keeping an eye on is screwed?
Either way please god be a party based RPG and not a goddamned MMO
No, a while ago Ubisoft said they could continue but they have to remove the numbered title in case they ever decided to make a 10th M&M. Should have been a big hint :P
I swear to god if it's called Might X Magic I will invade France.

I thinks so, I played almost to the end game before the main quest broke on me (the bugs really pissed me off). Don't remember any Sci-Fi aspects).

F2P and sub-based MMOs really have nothing in common. F2P is wildly successful for most publishers and not all that difficult to manage. I think as far as publishers are concerned F2P is even better than over-priced DLC. DLC just appeals to gamers that want to collect. Micro-transactions appeal to those who want to cheat or in many cases (considering how intentionally difficult most games designed from the beginning as F2P are) simply win.
It will be bad and you will feel bad.

Have a nic- bad day.
I just saw this, it's very, very interesting.

I don't understand that picture. Are they suggesting that the tenth game won't be called Might and Magic X? Otherwise, why all the question marks?????????????

ubi is rebranding the franchise, and "?????????????" is what the consultancy came up with.

he got well paid, though.

Just seen the trailer-wow more old-school than I'd have thought it's even TB!

It seems to be using World of Xeen's system, step-based movement and turn-based combat. Which is surprising because the last 4 games in the series had smooth movement (no grid) and real-time combat.
I have already been hurt once...but I will probably join the craze anyway. Nothing beats seeing your favourite game series being revived with the uncertainty whenever it will be raped or renewed to its former glory.

What, where?

Considering how Ubisoft treated the Heroes franchise I'm terrified how this could end.
Just don't trust a product without JVC at he helm.
