Hopefully that was just a demonstration build of the game, because the combat in that looked trivially easy, very un-MM-like if I do say so.

The characters were most definitely overpowered, obviously for the presentation purposes.

Anyway, here's a brand new Q&A conducted by Celectial Heavens:

CH: What is the estimated release date?
Answer: The game will be released within the year.

CH: Is there a multiplayer option and how will it work?
Answer: No. We will not have any multiplayer features. It's a straight forward single player game.

CH: Will movement be tile based?
Answer: Yes, the movement is tile based. It's a WASD walk with QE turning you left and right. Holding the right mouse button enables you to use the "free-look" but when you move it snaps back to the default camera position.

CH: Will there be an online aspect of the game?
Answer: No. Buy, download, play. Depending on a the distribution platform we probably have achievements. Aside from this Uplay is required like in all other Ubisoft titles. However, Uplay needs you to be online for a one time activation.

CH: Can you arrange party formations?
Answer: No, not in terms of "melee in the front, casters in the back". What you can influence is the turn order of your party members like "who acts when". Aside from this we have certain abilities/skills which have an impact on the combat flow. Think of crowd-control, stun, aggro reset. etc.
So it's more about what you decide to do with your characters instead of the formation: If you have a meat shield make him take the hits due to his abilities/skills.

CH: Will the wizards have a magic book? How will learning of spells work?
Answer: Yes - casters have spellbooks. You need to raise your magic skills (aka. spell school) with skill points from level-ups. Then you have to find the right trainer to get access to a higher tier. Finally you need to locate the right person to buy new spells. Sounds complicated? Well, noone said it's easy to be a caster! ;)

CH: How is this RPG different from "Dark Messiah"?
Answer: Uhm, that's probably a long list... Please don't make me explain it in detail. "Might and Magic X: Legacy" is a turn-based, tile-based, 4-party, story-telling, non real time cRPG. "Dark Messiah" is "Dark Messiah" - an awesome game but really something different.

Well, as unfortunate as it may seem, the UPlay client requirement pretty much rules out the possibility of a GOG release.

Hmmm, I didn't know UPlay only required a one-time activation, does that mean it doesn't need to be running while you play, like steam does?

Answers are surprisingly no nonsense, about the only things so far which I haven't liked is the lack of trainers for leveling, and the 25 hour estimate for game length, but those estimates are usually bullshit anyway

Phaidox: Indeed, it does - I'm finding it pretty hard to contain my excitement. Here's a youtube link:

Vote for the game, my fellow GOGlodytes.

Thank you for the link. It's nice to some gameplay. I'm excited, MM9 left me feeling empty inside.
This, LoG II, and Eador are my three most anticipated releases atm. Thanks for the new info and vids.

That video looks amazing btw.

I am disappointed by the Uplay activation comment. I hope GOG at least tries to get this here. It would an awesome release. And it would be nice to have it here with the rest of the series.
Wow, this is Might and Magic on steroids! Thank you very much for linking this. +1 This is what I was expecting over the weekend :P

Roger that. I think I was the first to vote, I'm probably wrong though :p

I'm sure it is. More than likely this is just a pre-alpha of the game. Man these graphics are almost as good as porn.

I really liked LoG, but the timed puzzles drove me nuts. I guess I'm getting to old for video games :p

Run it, check "Offline Play", play the game. I think some games don't even need the cd-key to be entered (Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for example). Let's hope they'll be convinced to release M&M X here as well.

Day 1 preorder if so.

Yeah, I would preorder this as well. It would be my third ever. :D
Hm, I'd probably prefer the M&M X to be more in a vein of M&M VI - VIII than this tile based, super retro style. I was always a sucker for open world, free roaming RPGs and VI, VII and VIII is among the best examples of those (especially VII).

But as long as the X keeps the open world feature, I guess the tile movement is not too much of a big deal.

Shouldn't you be getting wiser as you age and have much less trouble with difficult puzzles? I recently played through Dungeon Master: Chaos Strikes Back and found it much easier than when I was a kid.
I'm still unsure if i should wet myself from happiness or fear. It looks a bit, er, mobile'ish, though gameplay footage is too scarse to say anything really. Hopefully they'll learn from Grimrock and take a step further.

[edit]
step further, as in: opposed to making a gimmicky trivial cash grab. i wouln't want my M&M to be like LoG.
