Lol, guess I was reading Brasas wrong. You should have seen me sweat when I found out I had to claim and I know i needed to claim right.

@Brasas - Problem is I'm really not lurking because I'm scum. I actually am unable to get on the forum for most of the day. But I may play in less games in the future, since people are starting to get upset that I'm on so infrequently.

I think your claim was unecessary and made it harder for you.
You were in the unfortunate position that either of your claims (vanilla or doctor) would give you away to 1 of townies. But vanilla would be most likely better. This one pitted you against Lifthrasil who was more trusted by people than Lift and was cleared by one of the cops, the one who was too more trusted than the other. Before it looked like flub vs. Bookwyrm and most were leaning toward flub. With your claim your lynch actually became option again and you can be only happy Brasas chose flub over you.
With Brasas you would have more chance to make things uncertain and people would be more inclined to stay on flub instead of considering you.
Still, you won, it bothered nobody, it made for some drama, so no real problem with that. Also it would only mean D3 would be Wyrm x flub again so it would likely end the same way.
Only felt like mentioning it.

Bookwyrm claim was better and mostly necessary in that he had more credibility than flub and also came first.
If he didn't claim it would be on flub to only pick from agent, Wyrm and Brasas, which much higher chance of killing all mafia.

Happy to see despite the macho derp I was pulling attention from scum earlier. A different investigation choice from Flub would also have been an interesting what if.

And on the observer thread.

Tone reading Wyrm as scum was not an option for me... and of course I was trying hard. The open setup and low player count meant this was do or die.

@ Drealmer - I saw what you were doing, and had you leaning town. I think you do yourself no favors though, and if I could suggest one thing: I think you need to slow down your pace and stick to your guns a bit longer. You're too whimsical for most to trust. Even if you get something right, you move on so fast. Next game you play, do exactly what you normally do, but space it out more. When you have an idea, go away for some hours, and then come back and do it. Give space for the reactions to occur, for everyone to process.

I think games in which flubb is town are harder. Flubb has to be scum. Just like Krypsyn. Everything else just feels wrong!

Bit of textual diahhrea here, while I unload some swirling thoughts in no particular order.

-Performing any night actions at all on Town PR's is for noobs. We managed to hit straight vanilla the entire freaking game.

-I had an "Oh Boop!" moment when I first read Vitek's rules post. He linked to his previous game where I was Mafia Roleblocker (again). And then I fake claim cop (again). I was torn between hoping to convince both townies to vote with me (woo!) or Agent hammering for the scum win (again).

-Having to claim early was pretty nerve wracking. So much "If Flub has investigated nearly anybody, we could be done right here".

-This game was, indeed, pretty brutal. Scum has an advantage D1, but then there are so many areas where it could go massively wrong on D2.

-Flub: Why did you drop the vote so fast on Brasas at start of D2? I admit, that caught me completely flat footed.

-This might have been the longest 10 minutes of my life. I finish the post, and realize "A townie has placed a vote on another townie, the only people online are me and my scum buddy, and I can't post."

I was active willing Agent to notice the thread and say something, anything. I'm sitting there hitting refresh like a mad man, "We can win right now, we can win right now, ..." and trying to figure out how to catch his attention. 10 minutes pass, I can post again, ...and he's gone. AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

-I was fully prepared to bus the crap out of Agent if he got counter claimed by Lift. I spent a fair amount of time plotting out how to make it work, and who I needed to kill. If Lift counter claimed, then I need to be willing to vote Agent instead of Flub (since I "know" Lift is town, I know he has to be telling the truth, so Agent has to be scum). Can't kill Flub or I'm toast, Flub can't kill Brasas or me without him being toast, so try to kill Lift (even if Lift was Vanilla) and hope I can sway Brasas (and Lift, if Brasas was doctor) to vote Flub instead of me.

Thankfully, you guys obviated all that. :D

-I am REALLY not used to such a small game. I had an "Oh boop!" moment when Drealmer pointed out that Flub was at L-1 after 3 votes, and another when I realized "This could end with the D2 lynch". Just...wow.

-Brasas threw So. Much. Shade. My way. Oi!

-Several times I wanted to say something or other to Flub as a sort of wink, but I was afraid it might be taken as a tacit admission that he was the actual townie. Thanks for the compliments, Flub!

-I was quite happy that a lot of the hard data seemed to line up better with my claim than with Flub's claim. Flub having investigated Dessimu was a gift from Heaven.

-There was one point where I was trying to set the stage for Brasas to think something, and he decided to interpret it in a completely different way. I was a little irked that I couldn't just be like "No, that means THIS! Stop thinking that and think this instead!"

-It was interesting trying to spin things so that even if Agent or I went down, the scum partner suspicion would fall on a townie. I thought about claiming I'd investigated Agent, in case I lost the Flub/Wyrm battle, but decided not to do so.

-I almost made a really nasty slip when providing explanation for my investigation target. I nearly said "I knew there had to be at least one scum on the wagon, so I chose to look there instead of off wagon which might have had no scum." I had to keep reminding myself "No, you didn't know Dessimu would be dead yet".

-I was amused when I realized that Day 2 had a unique role for every living player. Then the thought of 5 cop claims made it funnier.

Thanks! I wanted to. I desperately wanted to. I could taste the win, oh so close. We just couldn't quite make that connection, though. So I tried to spin it as "We didn't because we aren't scum buddies"; the case for Agent + Wyrm not quick hammering was significantly weaker than for Lift + Wyrm not quick hammering.

I'm afraid you were only Plan B; Lift was Plan A. You were too focused on me being scum to be a reliable mark.

I only needed one of you to vote right for Agent to be able to hammer. I'm happy both of you did! Lift will make such a nice cloak.

Nah, the facepalm comment was legit. That was an incredibly weak case, at least from my perspective. Odds are pretty decent that I'd have said the same thing if I were town and you presented that argument.

Your hyper focus on who would hammer had me wondering if you were the cop. If you were indeed the cop, we needed you not to be investigating me. Thus, we made sure you couldn't.

And Agent never made a serious vote. Unusual game. I still think as an stepping stone to more traditional mafia it was an inspired choice. It felt somewhat Resistancy.

There wasn't a great time for him to make a vote, for most of the game. D1, neither of us wanted to hammer (I finally said "Screw it, Quick and Brutal!"), and there didn't seem like a lot of reason or excuse to try and turn the wagon to someone else.

D2, anyone quick voting was going to look bad without a cop claim with a scum result.

I'll take it! I much preferred seeing a townie lynched Day 2 than Day 3. Day 3 probably would have been a lot more dicey, regardless of who was lynched and killed.

It was kind of nice, waking up to check the thread and go "Woo! Victory!"

I don't remember the details anymore, except that it was early on D2. I complained about it to Vitek at the time.

That's alright. My passion will make up for it, and he does let me lead.

I like to think my expert-level tickling swung the game.
