So, GOGarins, how does your universe look like?
Actually managed to get the game reasonably working now (though it's still laggy as hell for the first hour)

I am thoroughly addicted now though. I've gotten the warp drive and the first planet I have landed on since my initial warp is a lush garden world full of animals & carpeted in grass & water. It's highly rich in gold & a few silicates I haven't seen before and I really don't want to leave.

I still haven't hit a forest like planet.

Seen some really strange ones though
Just clocked in 16 hours in the game and I decided to share my No Man Sky diary with you! :)

I keep the diary on Twitter, but don't worry, even without an account you can click those links and see the pictures. I hope you enjoy.

The game itself is working quite well on my older PC. I've only got 4GB of RAM and an old 4-core 9650 with the GForce GTX650. By no means a great system, but NMS is running quite nicely and I've experienced only 1 crash to desktop so far.

There is much the game needs, but IMO it's pretty darn good. A lot of the UI needs tool tips or some sort of explanation. A surface map is really needed. You can get by, barely, with the little waypoint icons but it really suffers from a lack of planetary navigation aids. The galactic map, for me anyway, is pretty incomprehensible and needs a lot more explanation or a tutorial of its own.

The biggest let down for me so far is the lack of generic online connectivity. I do not want to have to run Galaxy or Steam to be online in the game. The game should just make that connection itself. That said, the lack of being online doesn't really affect me. I still get paid for discoveries - I guess nobody else will know about them.

I think the game also needs a profile system so more than 1 person in a household can play on a shared computer. This lack is very annoying.

All said and done, not the worst $60 I've ever spent.
I have the game. It's disappointing and doesn't live up to the hype. For a video game that is procedurally generated, it is, ironically, repetitive. You are given guns and grenades that you use against no-one, and the NPCs only do one of two things, they're either sitting down or standing up, and that's it. It's not worth £40 at all, more like £5. The game is broken, as it suffers from Arkham Knight levels of performance issues on the PC. You can't drive (you either walk or fly), the only gun battles you have are in space, everything looks the same despite the procedural generation programming, and guess what. I pre-ordered this game like a mug. There Is so much wasted potential in this game. Don't buy it until There's a bargain on G2A or something, or better yet, don't buy it at all.

Add me to the no real issues crowd. Haven't had a single crash in over 20 hours playtime, and after tweaking the options I'm getting good performance at 2560x1440. I am currently searching for a new ship, but all I am finding is hostile worlds and pirates everywhere I go. :D
Steam users got beta-update to resolve some CPU issues. But we're not as VIP as them apparently.

Actually your system looks very good.... i am supposed to have

i5 750 quad core 2.67 8 gb ram and GTS 250 1 GB ram

but it runs and feels like this:

check attachment: screenshotpc.png

I can barely run simple small casual games on it...

Anyway, i see the game has 39 pages of reviews... thats quite a lot to check, this will take me hours....
maybe the rating system could be changed to something Bigfishgames use:

they have 1,2,3,4 and 5 stars, and each one has the number of total votes it had
check:
bigfishratingsys.png

using this its easier to see why a game has many stars, but people dont like the game overall.
Use a selector to show high to lowest ratings or lowest ratings first.

More upcoming games have quite high min. requirements:

Obduction ® (24aug 2016)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/306760/

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
http://store.steampowered.com/app/418240/

all heavy requirements

but there is good news: AVADON 3: THE WARBORN

my poor pc can run that very well... good old spiderwebs games
I'm gonna keep an eye on that one

and also on another AGS game from the creators that brought Kathy rain:

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=53552.0

So with a little luck i be able to get 2 good games....
rest of the upcoming games is mostly 3d or fpp or just not my type of game.

7 hours of learning every word in the Gek Language!
My favorite ship so far. To bad it only had 17 slots.

phoenix155: If I can run Elite: Dangerous on this thing, then I shouldn't have any issues running No Man's Sky at minimum settings.

real.geizterfahr: I'm afraid that's not how minimum requirements work. Does the 6750M even come with OpenGL 4.5 support? No Man's Sky won't run on anything below that, no matter how good your GPU is.
I actually don't know. Perhaps they should have considered that when developing the game. Thanks for being an asshole, by the way. Great introduction to the GOG community. Dick. There was absolutely no reason for condescension and you poured that on in heaps.

So, GOGarins, how does your universe look like?
My kids and I are all playing it. They're a lot farther along than I am, as they have more free time to devote to it, and we have to juggle time on the one computer that'll run it.

My world is green but very hot, so there's continuous maintenance to protect against the heat. So far I've been very cautious around the Sentinels, and so haven't engaged in any altercations where I've been beaten down. I did get attacked by a segmented worm creature that was coiled around a plant I was going to harvest for carbon; that was a shock. I've spent a fair amount of time feeding the animals I've discovered (aside from that worm thing) and then collecting the little "gifts" they leave me in return. That's a fun gameplay loop.

My son's planet was very icy, but he's left that place a long time ago, and has been advancing through the ship upgrade/trading game. He's really enjoying the space flight controls. We both tried using an Xbox controller for the game and can't STAND it; the mouse and keyboard combination works so much better, for us. We haven't tested whether any of our joysticks will work, but since he's already loving the existing controls, I don't know that we'll get to that.

My daughter delights in scanning, renaming, and uploading animals, plants, and minerals to the universal database. Needless to say, she's been collecting "achievements" (I forget what they're actually called) like crazy.

I'm VERY satisfied with the effective lack of multiplayer in the game. Reading the latest update notes, I was concerned that the game was going to be updated more and more toward a multiplayer experience, which doesn't interest me AT ALL (it's actually a big deterrent). Thankfully, though, in all the hours and hours of play that we all three have logged, there's been no trace of any other people. No poaching, no murder, no abuse, no inane chat... Hallelujah!

We're all loving this game.
Today my universe looks like this. Quality trimmed a bit cause attach limits.

I was all about buying this game but:

1. Reviews are bad for this game, i will wait until game is patched and more content added.
2. Price is ridiculous. I'll wait until it 1/2 of current price.
