Please post on GungHo Online's social media pages to let them know that we want them to release Grandia HD Remaster here as well as update the Grandia II Anniversary Edition to Grandia II HD Remaster as well:

Thank you
I thought the version of Grandia II that is on GOG now is already the Remastered version? Is that not correct?

Has there been any indication that it won't show up here? Would be suuuuper fucking annoying if that was the case... since they put out Grandia II.

Here's hoping there's no nonsense and they have it out on GOG on day 1. I've always wanted to play Grandia I, but never quite got around to it. I intend to correct this.

Well they put this on one of their Facebook replies:

"The GRANDIA HD Collection will be released on the Nintendo Switch and the GRANDIA HD Remaster and GRANDIA II HD Remaster will release on Steam for PC at a later date. There are no plans for a physical release at this time."

Now this could just be another case where it will get released on GOG, but they just mention Steam or it could be another case where we're left in the cold.
I hope we get Grandia 1. It looks pretty fun. We need more JRPGs here.
considering the quality of current grandia's pc port...

But more games are better. Do these guys have anything else than social media accounts? Like, dunno, email?
I'd really like Grandia I here, even though I've already finished it to my satisfaction, and there's really no advantage of wine over pcsx-r for me. I'd still buy it, and it might encourage other, similar games (or the PS2 games, even though I finished those, as well) to come here.

On the other hand, I don't do social media. Period. Twitter and Facebook must die. Sorry.

So, I did all I can do: voted for the relevant wishes (easy to find, so I won't link them here): Grandia HD, Grandia, and Grandia Series. Seems negligent of me not to have voted on them before, but I never expected PC ports of anything but 2. I also forgot to vote when the HD release was first announced in another thread here.

Actually, there is. PCSX, like all console emulators, has to emulate the CPU used by the console (which is a RISC CPU, not an x86 one); as a result, it consumes extra CPU resources. Wine, on the other hand, does not, so it doesn't need significantly more than the game would need natively on Windows.

Back to the main topic, I would be more interested in Grandia 1 than I am in Grandia 2, actually.

I edited my post to reflect that I meant "for me", although that should've been obvious.

I have a 100% success rate running PS1 games on pcsx-r with little to no effort, and can do things like save states at any time (although Grandia in particular tends to have plenty of save points). My success rate with wine is much lower, and generally requires significant effort even if it fails (thus making all of that effort a complete waste).

Furthermore, this is Grandia HD. The HD part means that it may well be slower than the original, emulated. In fact, Grandia 2 had this issue before dxvk became usable: the game was nearly unplayably slow in wine, but worked fine in whatever DC emulator I was using at the time (currently works fine in reicast).

Store page is up on Steam -- September launch.

Nothing here yet. Only new preorders today are some crappy FMV game and another Slitherine game. Gonna be really annoyed if it doesn't show up here.
If someone could create a wishlist entry that'd be nice. (can't hurt ;) There is one for Grandia HD but not Grandia 2 HD.

Anyone but Barry Woodward... we don't need him scaring off more devs!!

The Grandia 2 game is identical to the Anniversary release that's already here.

So normally I try not to get involved in drama, but in the case of Barry I gotta stand up for the guy, unless something's dramatically changed the last few months, he's been a trooper and extremely supportive of GOG. Maybe a little overly enthusiastic at times, I don't know, but if the devs aren't mature enough avoid being "scared off" a storefront by fans then ... my gut instinct is to say "fck 'em" :P

I was just kidding, because of one dev who was "put off" by him. I wasn't insinuating that he shouldn't actually contact them.
