darktjm: there's really no advantage of wine over pcsx-r
dtgreene: Actually, there is. PCSX, like all console emulators, has to emulate the CPU used by the console (which is a RISC CPU, not an x86 one); as a result, it consumes extra CPU resources. Wine, on the other hand, does not, so it doesn't need significantly more than the game would need natively on Windows.
I edited my post to reflect that I meant "for me", although that should've been obvious.
I have a 100% success rate running PS1 games on pcsx-r with little to no effort, and can do things like save states at any time (although Grandia in particular tends to have plenty of save points). My success rate with wine is much lower, and generally requires significant effort even if it fails (thus making all of that effort a complete waste).
Furthermore, this is Grandia
HD. The
HD part means that it may well be slower than the original, emulated. In fact, Grandia 2 had this issue before dxvk became usable: the game was nearly unplayably slow in wine, but worked fine in whatever DC emulator I was using at the time (currently works fine in reicast).
