You really shouldn't give this a pass.

King of Dragon Pass, the updated version of the seminal strategy/RPG with innovative storytelling, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% discount until December 10, 11PM UTC.

Almost 20 years after its original release, the fantasy classic returns with a sharper UI and the lovely illustrations cleaned up to be more on par with modern standards. Its seminal worldbuilding and addictive gameplay are as absorbing as ever, plus the added content promises to give veterans extra incentive to return to this wonderful saga.

This is a free update for all owners of the classic version, which is now included in this as a bonus goodie.

Watch the trailer.

Okay?
Cunt.
I don't usually go for re-whatevers, but thanks I guess.

And of course especially for keeping the original around at least as an extra. But you do have a good track record of that. Don't stop.

That sentence has so many things right. I would even call that a perfect sentence, totally flawless.

Reading that sentence out loud over and over again feels similar to a choir of angels singing to you while tickling your back with feathers. or something like that.
Unfortunately, after the update to the "Remastered" version, GOG Galaxy supports only it now. At least I haven't found a way to detect the original game after installing from "Backups & Goodies" page. Is it a limitation of the Galaxy client, or I'm doing something wrong?

Nice, thanks!
Wow, that game always was a "wish this would get a remaster"-candidate.

A little letdown: This is more like a 2012 remaster than a 2017 remaster. Todays remasters should support arbitrary resolution, not just up to FHD like this one does...
...anyways, a huge step forward!
Thanks for the updated game. I did try to run the original version last week on my pc but would not work so hopefully will now.
Nice to see the remastered version for free for owners of the original!
Thank you. Those nice free stuff are the second reason why I always shop at Gog.com when I have the choice (reason number one being the absence of DRM of course)

I would assume it's the same version that's been on Steam for a couple years; if that's the case, then you're close: it's a backport of a mobile version originally from 2011.

An emissary of GOG clan aproaches your tula announcing that Herocraft clan sent you a free gift. It is a very shiny artifact with inscribed A# runes. You already own a similar one that you cannot carry around in a pocket.

1. Conduct a divination.
2. Accept gift, give reciprocal gifts.
3. Accept gift, organize a feast in honour of both GOG clan and Herocraft clan.
4. Accept gift, scold Herocraft clan's craftsmen for not caring about details that make your older artifact special and much more immersive.
5. Do nothing.
What a nice surprise, installing to check out the remastered version, thanks GoG/A-Sharp!
Now this is how you do things (though it'll fall on deaf ears elsewhere, of course)! If you replace the old with the new in catalog, you not only leave the old version bundled, but also don't increase the price, don't add increased regional pricing, and also give the remaster for free to owners of the base.

Thank you GOG and A Sharp!

(Now if only this will make me get back to it, whether the original or installing the remaster. After two bad failures, one taken all the way to the bitter end of the clan disbanding, the other just abandoned when it was clear where it was heading, I never got back to it. But would sure want to... Someday... When I'll somehow feel like I'll be less embarrassingly bad at it.)
I'm really enjoying the game, but can I have just one little thing?
The ability to select quitting the game from a menu!
Shouldn't this be notified like any other game update? There's nothing in my library to indicate that the game was changed, and this thread will sink into the pits of general discussion in a few days.

How are customers who don't read the forum 24/7 supposed to notice this update?
