ZFR: Mixed feelings too. Might be a good idea for some games, but having Grimm split into 23 episodes might be a nightmare. It would be good if you make it optional for all games.
Seems like the solution would be go on a case-by-case basis. For entries that are obviously comprised of completely separate games, like the Tomb Raiders, split them up. No reason to get silly on episodic games, though.
This will mess up my Launch box... Ultima, Wing Commander, and Might and Magic are all in my current setup.. :( Oh well. At least I'll be able to fix that relatively simply. My back up copies shouldn't be too bad either.
Checked my shelf for what might get affected. Doesn't matter for most of the stuff, but I would really rather hold on to the Telltale season boxes, and the situation with Ultima 4 and Ultima 4+5+6 is already a bit odd.
Well, this will be...interesting. It already takes ages for my shelf to fully load. But at the same time I do like the idea of distinct titles with individual updates. I suspect this is a scenario where there is no "best', but merely a selection of "least worst" choices.

I was thinking the same thing. Then again, I read somewhere that they are working on a new game shelf. Hopefully, one of the improvements will be faster loading...
Please do not unbundle DLC's from their games, it is bad enough as it is for game like SotS:TP.

Leroux: Sounds good in general, but in cases like Grimm it could lead to a really cluttered shelf - will it be split into 23 episodes or just into seasons?

Tannath: Yeah, I already find it annoying that Cognition's four episodes appear separately...

Also, what about expansions? I'm thinking Medal of Honour: Allied Assault Warchest or Overlord+Raising Hell.
You're right that's really annoying. Having the installers split up would be great, different items on the shelf would be awful.
So Battle Isle will become 4 or 5 entries?

Except that episodic games are already split up in some cases. Supreme League of Patriots and Cognition for two examples (might be the only two, I'm not sure).
Time to do so some backups, "in case of".....

Glad that you warn us ;)

^this! Appreciate the advanced warning. Of impending doom... dun dun dun... :)
Damned, it just occured to me that the unbundling will destroy my 10% quota. I always try to have at least 10% of games in my library that I successfully completed. Of course there will be some games that I can add to the completed section when GOG is unbundling the packs. But on the other hand there will be a lot of new games from packs that I've never touched so far.

ZaineH: It sounds like it could get very messy for packs with several versions of the same game,
As for several versions, Tie Fighter and X-Wing were separated since release into two packs each, for 1994/1998 and 1993/1998 respectively.
