Ciris: Following your many requests and in connection with preparing game libraries better for GOG Galaxy, we’re going to be starting what we’re calling unbundling games.
Thank you for the heads up.

It seems you are doing this because it was requested by some users. Did you take into consideration that more users might NOT want this feature, but did not think to request that the current state be left unchanged (or better yet, do the reverse, i.e. bundle the previously-unbundled Cognition, XWing, Tie Fighter, etc.)?

Too late, I guess.

Do not want.
I'll say good or bad, it will be nice to have Commandos 2 free from the stench and corruption of being stuck together with Commandos 3. :D

I'm not kidding. That's like having Caddyshack 1 and 2 on the same DVD; it's just not right!

Ciris: If you have any questions, feel free to ask and we'll do our best to answer them. We’re also awaiting your feedback in terms of how unbundling went for your games - we’ll be following this thread, so keep us informed of any issues!

Phc7006: Thanks for warning us. Would it be feasible to send an email to each user reporting the list of changes made to their account or the list of games affected by this change ? This to allow us to check nothing went wrong. Thanks !
What could go wrong? GOG never ever messed up anybody's library.

I think it will be more useful for many users of Galaxy. You'll be able to track how long you've played an individual game and you'll also be able to join bundled multiplayer games easier. I would imagine it's a lot easier to make Galaxy and the website look the same.

Moreover, we might get some new box covers (Cognition got a bunch)!

What's wrong with Caddyshack 2? What are you, some kind of fonzanoon?

Only available as an import for us Americans. I thought you might appreciate the marketing speak on the front of the case: Double Feature, 2 holes in one!

EXACTLY! After we were told that Galaxy wouldn't affect those of us who have no interest in using it, this sh** is already starting.

I have a sinking feeling my days as a GOG customer may be coming to an end this year.

I agree completely. It was pretty obvious from the "Good News" OP that this was being done for Galaxy.
And so we begin to see the effect of the "optional" Galaxy on the "non-optional" website.

Must have been the same assholes that put Conan 1 and 2 on the same disc; which I have.

I thought the site "update" was the beginning.

I do like Galaxy, will use Galaxy, and hope it fulfills my wildest dreams. But I think it will take quite some time to recover from the total change.

I hope the change doesn't make your MaGog work go nuts.

For those of us that had hoped to avoid Galaxy, it's going to be more like Black Hole. Everything will get sucked in and only in the most subtle and complicated of ways can anything ever get out.

So that's why Fallout 1 keeps disappearing from the shelf. They're rebundling it with Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics so that they can unbundle it properly.

No, wait...

And the inside of a Black Hole is literally Hell. That and violent robot sex.

Really not a fan of this.
Pretty cool. That's a very sensible way to do it, especially with Galaxy coming out. Pity it might mean that dependencies get duplicated even more than they are already - or is there already a plan for that?

By the way, Ciris, how come your thread titles are never blue? This is totally a blue-worthy announcement :)
