l0rdtr3k: I needed to vent.I'm stressed out you know?
I do, I just figured there was a 'trigger'.
But maybe I've just watched too many cop shows.

dick1982: so... get a blog?
Thinking about it.

l0rdtr3k: You don't need to play every single of them in order.
It's mostly about mowing waves of mooks with ultra large weapons and feeling like a total badass super soldier.
While it does sound fun, it also sounds like it would get boring fast if that's all it has. But I'm not asking you for a full review here. I've heard of this series and I wouldn't mind trying it out, but I don't feel like spending more than 5€ or so on it.
In my opinion, is not bad you like these games, one of my favourite games to play whit my brother was Dynasty Warrios Strike Force, because in multiplayer is fun, but play it alone is a little shitty,

despite my undernick says COD is a really good game and I really like it, the campaings most of them are fun and they are really well done. the problem of hate it's fans most of them are kids of 7 to 15... they excessively use words like true gamer, pro Gamer, most of them are blinded pride idiots, they like discriminate other games, because they are old or not use the same mechanics than cod (AKA. ARCADE SHOOTERS).

for any reason these kids reamemberd me the old QUAKE fans when I was a child, they discriminated DOOM for it's graphics... they were idiots too...

As I said,it's great for unwinding after a stressful day.

Yeah, the COD community is pretty shitty with it's MLG 360 noscopers and squeakers. But I tend to ignore them when I play. Thank God for the mute button.

Well, I can always use Shadow warrior's survival mode for that.

Or UT,COD,Dark Souls(I kid,I kid).

I had to after reading some things about it, it was just as cringe worthy as I had anticipated.
Still, it was only one terrible episode and not the constant 'enhance this photo' bit that other shows use.
At least I don't think they use that constantly.

It's hard to unwind when there are random internet people around. Experience says they'd just stress me more instead.

Smannesman: Yeah I suppose certain games like CoD and HALO carry a certain stigma with them, but who cares as long as you enjoy them. If the singleplayer campaigns are any good I'd probably enjoy them too, sometimes I just feel like playing a good FPS.
My Halo experience is limited to playing Halo 1-2 on PC, and COD experience is playing COD: Black Ops 2, and some earlier (ancient) CODs on PS2 a bit (generally I have no idea how different the various COD spin-offs are from each other). I haven't played either series online, TeamFortress games are enough for me for that purpose.

What is the stigma that Halo games carry? I found them overall quite enjoyable gaming experiences, even played the first Halo through twice. While there certainly were some of those tiring copy&pasted sections, I didn't generally find it "brainless" or anything like that, compared to contemporary PC FPS games. It wasn't that much better either, though.

COD though (at least Black Ops 2), I can certainly see its flaws in gameplay. You kinda get weary of how the whole world seems to be collapsing around you all the time, throughout the whole damn game. Seeing everything blowing up all over you gets boring after awhile, especially since you know it is only for show.

Similarly, your teammates seemed to be completely invincible, they couldn't die at least from enemy bullets. Already early in the game I ended up in a "hilarious" situation where I was hiding behind a big rock from enemy shots, and my team mate was standing beside there, constantly getting shot by enemies, and yelling to me constantly "Let's go! Move on!". I could stay there for an hour and the situation would stay the same.

And how your teammates keep constantly screaming something about urgency, yet it seemed it never really mattered how fast you advanced, you'd always get to the objective just at a nick of time (or too late, if the enemy was meant to be able to escape just before you enter the scene, or something). As far as I could tell, there was only one case where I was actually pressed with time, some additional objective of saving the life of some French ambassador or whatever, don't recall anymore. I don't recall getting game over any time for advancing too slowly, though.

Also, the "challenge" in the game seemed quite superficial (I think I played at the hardest difficulty level). It didn't really feel it was about getting better in the game. You'd normally always die at first in a new room/location several times from enemy's lucky one-kill(?) shots, but then either seemingly out of luck, or finally learning by heart where the enemies will come from (and you shoot them before they shoot you), you'd reach the next checkpoint. Repeat ad nauseam.

Note: there seemed to be those (optional?) special missions here and there with special objectives, where you'd had a limited amount of teammates, you'd place some turrets etc. They actually seemed better implemented than the rest of the single-player campaign, but they shared some of the problems (e.g. quite often it felt about luck whether an enemy would run at you from behind a corner and gun you down).

The story: seemed some very bad season of 24 with Jack Bauer, with lots of flashbacks to past.

Oh and the ending of the game... it was just silly. In a bad way. It really made me feel I am too old for the game, not part of the target audience.

I stopped buying Cods but I still go back and play MW2 every once in a while.

There are so many areas they could have improved and innovated but they just stagnated which makes me sad and is the reason I gave up on the series.

They could have made it more visceral with bigger explosions, better sounds, better death animations, environmental destruction, more realistic gun play with more recoil, etc.

But they have actually gone backwards in a lot of areas. If you played Cod4 you'll notice when running with a pistol you hold it with both hands pointing toward the ground which feels very realistic and tactical, in the later ones you hold it in one hand and run with both arms pumping which just looks arcady. They also changed the spawning system, in cod4 you spawned on the side of the map where your team was which made it more of a team battle instead of random spawns all over the map like the latter ones.

Titanfall ended up being a big disappointment because it was made by the guys who made cod4 and my expectations were way too high.

The same thing CoD has, the online community consisting of mostly younger (at least in spirit) players.
Although perhaps that's no longer the case.

Also, I just saw MW2 up there and I immediately thought it stood for MechWarrior 2...

I can't wait for COD Black Ops III because Treyarch makes the best CODs so far.

Black Ops 2 was great.

I played Halo mostly for the campaigns and it was a nicely deep story. Halo 2 had the best cutscenes and acting.

AW is pretty great too.
I used to like Dynasty Warriors and in my opinion DW4 (XL to Empires) is the best of the series but now the brand new series is way too boring for me (the characters looks stupid) until i switch to ROTK series it's may not kind of game for everyone but if you're into DW you should give it a try. Same goes to CoD and for Titanfall never play the game so i don't have opinion about it .
