Okay, you understood?
Bethesda was so impressed by Prey 2 that they wanted to own its developer: Human Head Studio.
But Human Head Studio didn't want to belong to a publisher and wanted to remain free to work with any publisher that they feel like.
Then Bethesda reacted like a man who wants a woman but the woman doesn't want him so the man gets mad and does everything to make the woman suffer out of revenge.
That is exactly how Bethesda reacted to Human Head Studio declining to belong to Bethesda.
Bethesda has sabotaged a wonderful video game almost ready to release out of revenge.
Don't you find Bethesda lame and disgusting from this point?
Now that you know what Bethesda has done and if you have any sense of justice and love for video games, then you can't forgive Bethesda and you don't want to reward them.
Then you don't want to make Bethesda earn money and you shall boycott the incoming Prey masquerade and everything which would make Bethesda earn money from now on.
Because if you do buy something which makes Bethesda earn money, then you act as if you don't give a shit about what Bethesda has done and you reward them for their bad deeds.
So from player to player, for the sake of video games and for players' dignity, we shall all boycott Bethesda.
Thank you for listening to what a player-mate had to say and thank you if you do decide to participate at boycott for the sake of justice, dignity, and love of video games.
Thank you for feeling concerned and not let greedy publishers get away after wasting promising video games.

Think about it. Why everyone runs after money? Because money allows to do things. Money is power. The more we have money, the more we can do things, the more we have power. Think about it, each time that we spend money, we bring some power to someone. Each time that we boycott, we don't bring power to someone. Do you understand? Each time that we spend money or boycott, we kinda vote for who we want to make more or less powerful.

Knowing that, and not wanting to bring power to a publisher who wastes promising video games out of greed, you understand why you must boycott Bethesda and any other publisher that you know wastes promising video games.
Because that is our only way to us, players, to defend video games.

But, out of the topic but still kinda in, this applies to everything, not only video games.
In a society where the real power is money, our only real power is to choose what we do of our money.
We all are more powerful than the said powerful persons at the top of our society want to make us believe.
Because think about it, the said powerful persons at the top of our society need our money in order to remain powerful.
They can't remain powerful without our money.
So they need us all much more that they want to make us believe.
They want to make us believe that we are weak and meaningless, they want to make us believe that in order to remain over us, but the truth is, they are helpless without us.
Or more specifically, they are helpless without our money.
Think about it, every each of us is more powerful than they want to make us believe, we are not that meaningless. ;-)
So let's use our power well. Let's choose wisely who we give our money to, so who we bring some power to, and so, for what society we vote for. ;-)

Edit: This is a demo of Prey 2 and I highly recommend to you to read its commentaries, they are pretty interesting...

Moreover, I learned that Bethesda has not done this to only one developer.
It seems that such disgusting moves are usual by Bethesda.
Here is another story that I was told and that I share with you:
Bethesda has done exactly the same to Arkane Studios and Dishonored 2 that they have done to Human Head Studio and Prey 2.
It's the same thing. Additional funding was given at each milestone reached in development. For a while everything was going fine, but with time Bethesda became more and more strict about acknowledging the milestones, forcing Arkane Studios to go back and redo their work.
If I remember correctly there was a story about Bethesda complaining a level was too bright or something, the dev responsible was so fed up that they made no changes at all to it and resubmitted the same level a week later, at which point Bethesda complained it was too dark and they had to go back and make it brighter...
The funding from the last milestone would run out so they were forced to take out loans to pay for paychecks and expenses until the next milestone was reached. Eventually they had to go to Bethesda and say they were declaring bankruptcy and they wouldn't be finishing the game. Bethesda offered to pay off their loans in exchange to selling the studio to them for next to nothing. Arkane Studios did, and apparently the milestones went back to being reached on schedule.

So Arkane Studios has been victim of Bethesda's greed and dirty tricks to own a developer, pushed to bankruptcy and forced to accept to be bought by and to belong to Bethesda.
Right now, I see Bethesda as a man who doesn't accept to be said no when he wants a woman and who rapes women who don't want to offer themselve to him.
To sign a contract with Bethesda is the same as to sign your sentence to death or to slavery.
And I feel as if buying a video game published by Bethesda is the same as buying a product made by slaves and support slavery...

Nope. Do you have a non video-version, please?

Well, I summed it up under the video link:

Smannesman: TL;DR, I'm buying two copies.
3 minutes and I read it all. You haven't seen TL;DR.
It's a shame Prey 2 never got released and Besthesda were awful on this one, but do we really need to punish Arkane studios, their work and talent and not play a potentially good game because of what happened ? No.
So they acted like the man who wanted the woman who's man wanted the man who was the man's woman because the woman was a man?

That sound right?
Basically, the same thing that happened with Dishonored and Arkane, except there Bethesda did buy them.

I think that Arkane should have not accepted to steal Prey away from Human Head Studio.
When Bethesda asked to Arkane to make a new Prey from the scratch and screw everything made by Human Head Studio, I think Arkane should have answered "No, we will not do this to Prey 2 and to Human Head Studio.".
Because by accepting to screw Prey 2 and make a reboot of Prey, Arkane is kinda accomplice of the bad deed of Bethesda.
You understand my reasoning?

I see little wrong with ti. It sucks, but it is the way of the world. Those with leverage and power win over those without. Nothing illegal went on, Bethesda simply enforced their contract with Human Head. The fish doesn't tell the shark "No" if the shark takes the decency to ask before dining. Or rather, the fish's opinion is of limited importance. The shark may feel bad about eating, and decide not to, or it may just eat anyway.

Such is the way of the world.

Arkane did?!? I would have preferred to go bankruptcy rather than belonging to Bethesda after all the pain that they gave to me!
When I read your story, only one word comes to my mind about Bethesda: loan shark.
I am even more disgusted at Bethesda that I was, I swear on my honor that I will not buy anything related to Bethesda ever again, no way that I reward them!

Bethesda just rebranded Prey into something else, Prey is dead long live Prey I guess ? and frankly, if you've seen and played all Arkane games you know they'll NOT refuse to make a game like system shock with the all the money provided by a big publisher.

Maybe you prefer that, but the 100 or so employees with families to support that Arkane had are probably just glad they're not out of a job.
