misteryo: All of POE's content is entirely free to play. They sell cosmetic only things. That's how they finance the whole operation. There is never anything you can buy that has any gameplay effect whatsoever.

mqstout: If only they'd sell it so I could purchase a copy and play without relying on their servers and outside of the "economy" that is one of the top-listed reasons people always cite as hampering the game from being as good as it otherwise could be. (Example: restricted respeccing is totally disrespectful to the player and is only there to push grind/"economy", which increases chances to cave in to a microtransaction.)
Did you complain about limited respeccing in Torchlight? Was that also to "push grind/economy"?

dudalb: Yeah, Diablo 3 evenwithout the "nned to be online to play " to play issue was considered a dissapointment.
Remember the whole micro transaction fiasco where they tried to mix buying stuff with game money with buying whay amounted to DLC with real money? Boy, idd that backfire.
Torchlight came out about the same time, a a great many game reviewers pointed out the modest small indie game was alot more fun then what Blizzard came up with...(mayve that the original Diablo disginers did Torchlight had something to do with that.
Grim Dawn feels more like a good Diablo sequel than D3 ever managed.
No, totally not.

Grim Dawn

and

Titan Quest

are more than enough, for all of your Diablo 3 needs!

Yes. And then I installed a mod to add it because it's a game and actually ownable.
I don't see it happening anytime soon, if ever, but I would definitely love to get D3 here on GOG. To be honest, I would really appreciate an offline PC version of the game, even if it wasn't on GOG, since the terrible Internet service in my country makes it extremely frustrating (and some days just impossible) to play anything online.

tfishell: Somebody familiar with WoW humor me too: could there theoretically be a single-player WoW or is too much of the game focused on bosses too tough for a single person to beat (amongst other concerns)?
It's an MMORPG, which means it's designed to be played by a lot of people in order to function properly. Yes you can pretty much level until the end solo but any end game content requires players. Plus the game's economy (auction houses) revolves around players. Like any MMORPG, if you take the players out of the world it's a pretty barren place.

1000 percent agree. Grim Dawn is really good and much better then Diablo 3.
As I said, the whole DRM have to be on line to play single player issue is a long way from being the only thing wrong with the game.

Throw in a plug for the Torchlight games as well. Smaller in scale then the above 2, but a hell of a lot of fun.

There are plenty of x clones of many popular media pieces.....most cr*p or meh but some are pretty good.
With or Without internet Diablo 3 is Not worth playing.

I bought this POS twice. The original and the Reaper of Souls Expansion and tried it again with the whole "Diablo 3 is now fixed and great and the end game is really fantastic" BS.

D3 is a pile of rancid garbage - every single thing about the game is awful. The art direction, the character animations with a floating running effect, the absolute dog-shit user interface, idiotic story that destroyed all the characters who matter, awful lead characters and broken loot system.
The endgame of Diablo 3 was/is pretty much seasons with some class changes, new items, new achievements and rarely content additions. So an offline version would basically lack the endgame...

Idf it has the basic ending I got on console to me that's the ending(not extra MP content).
I do not think so. All those who want a DRM free Version would buy already for a console.
