I love grinding and ARPG's, so for me it would be an instabuy.

tfishell: Oh I remember various controversies though I don't really care about Diablo personally I remember them in vague terms. I was wondering more about the feasibility of an offline D3 - how much not-online and singleplayer content there is, what would have to be gutted and how it would still hold up compared to the current version, questions like that.
Most of the content(if not all storywise) can be played SP.....in fact that's what I did(I played all the way through paladin and most way through demon hunter).
It's currently on sale.

You mentioned the top wishlist item for all three Diablo games, but there's also a community wishlist item for just Diablo III, which currently doesn't have all that many votes.

(I know I never bothered voting for it due to the always-online requirement, but the information about the console version makes me hope just a tiny bit, so voted.)

That looks sweet.

Grim Dawn's the best game in the genre!
I'd pay $10 for D3.

It's about even with Path of Exile for me. Which btw is free and just started a new League.

We’ll be lucky to see Diablo 2 within a few a years let alone 3. I'm with you though, wish listed it years ago.

Sorry, PoE isn't even a game (it's a microtransaction generation service). And everything I've gathered from others about its game play, it's rubbish to actually try to play.

That's completely wrong on both counts.

All of POE's content is entirely free to play. They sell cosmetic only things. That's how they finance the whole operation. There is never anything you can buy that has any gameplay effect whatsoever.

2nd, Path of Exile is amazingly good ARPG gameplay. It stands up to comparison with Grim Dawn, my personal favorite.

If only they'd sell it so I could purchase a copy and play without relying on their servers and outside of the "economy" that is one of the top-listed reasons people always cite as hampering the game from being as good as it otherwise could be. (Example: restricted respeccing is totally disrespectful to the player and is only there to push grind/"economy", which increases chances to cave in to a microtransaction.)

I would pay €5 for "Facebook Diablo" on GOG. €7 at best. Especially because I've already wasted too much focking money on the two Collector's Edition when they came out at first.

Oh, and no: there will never be a PC Diablo III off-line because Diablo III design is based on the on-line component too much to work the same way without the Internet.

Diablo IV, maybe.... Do you guys have phone?!?

Well, OK. You don't like it because it's online. That's fair.

But the economy - which is made up of players trading items, not microtransactions - is easy to ignore. Most players never trade.

It's a good game, huge and deep and fun.
