tinyE: sour cream

Of course, sour cream goes good on pretty much anything.

jamyskis: Sour cream AND roasted onions, mixed into mashed potato.

Of course, when I say roasted onions, I'm talking about the dried "Röstzwiebeln"/"Rostad lök" that you can buy in any supermarket in Germany or Sweden.
Stop
you're getting me physically aroused here. :P

Man, I can smell them.

tinyE: We have a guy stays with us every year who puts ketchup on his Eggs Benedict.
This has to be some sort of message.
avatar
tinyE: Anyone here love just plain old potatoes? :P
Oooooh yeah. It's like toast: a humble delivery platform for butter.

He is one of my favorite guest but kind of an kooky old guy.

He spent his entire career in the Canadian Air Force and evidently made some rank just short of god; loaded with tons of medals and stuff.

jepsen1977: What is "sweet potatoes" anyway?
Google "yam". (Which, as a by-product, will help you understand Asbeau's little pun up there.)

tinyE: Up here people make french fries with [sweet potatoes].
Most of my local diners offer these, for a small upcharge. Better than regular fries, IMO. I can (and often do) eat them as-is, no ketchup needed.

Ixamyakxim: What happens when sour cream goes bad? *head asplodes*
He joins a gang. ;)

Nah; broil 'em, and use warmed marinara sauce instead. Way better than butter.

Matewis: Heavenly vegetable!

awalterj: What's on the grid paper on your wall in the back, did you map out dungeons for old games? Cool handwriting btw!

(not going to comment on the potatoe, for people who know at least basic cooking it is obvious that this is not even the final form of the potatoe so nothing suspicious or mysteriosu about it!)
I'll relay that compliment to my professor thanks :) My own handwriting is pretty atrocious by comparison :\
On the grid paper? Unfortunately not as exciting as mapped out dungeons no. Those are various housing block designs for Caesar 3.

Damn, I knew I forgot something!
The sweet potato hype has surpassed peak absurdity. I don't dislike em but, damn, am I sick of them making their way into places they don't belong. Mash em? Fine. Julienne them into fries and charge me an extra $2 for them? Now yer just screwing with me.

I fight back by making people cringe in desecrating their divine tuber with gratuitous abuse of the word, "Yam".

Yam Yam Yam Yam.
You can't go wrong with potatoes. Discussing the legitimacy of sweet, spicy, sour, yellow, green, blue, cyan etc. is entirely missing the point, and is a disservice to potato enthusiasts everywhere.

The only thing worse is someone who can't spell "potato".

Thank god we've never had a prominent figure in this country with that problem.

*cough*

Ah, mystery solved! I remember downloading colored block designs for Caesar 3 a couple years ago after a sudden flash of nostalgia clashed with the harsh reality that I no longer have the same patience as in the late 90s when I first played the game and had to figure out everything by myself.

PS: my handwriting is atrocious as well, I actually can't read much of it it but sort of remember what I wrote when I look at what seems like random illiterate scrawling to the unobservant eye. The rest I have to decipher via context. Pretty ridiculous but it's more effective than any regular encryption method.

Yep, plain Jane potatoes are amazing.

That game's been bugging me for years! So this time I decided to properly play through it, all peaceful and dangerous missions! But to keep the gameplay from becoming too monotone I'm trying to design new housing blocks for each level.
I figure if I can just average about one level each week or every second week I'll eventually get through the game so that I can move onto Pharaoh with a clear conscience :)

My handwriting isn't really illegible, it's just, well, ugly. And that's an unusually good sample! I used to write in cursive back in highschool but I stopped once it got out of hand. It was too much of a chore for me, but more importantly my teachers to read :P

That sounds like a great plan, a great plan because... I had the very same plan, ha! But I already know I don't have the patience for Caesar or Pharao so I'm toying with the idea of skipping right to Emperor once it goes on a deep sale, that's the one in the series I completely missed so far. Feels like if I play that one, I can finally put the city builder genre to rest, for good.

(It's the typical "one more game of this type to complete my gaming educaton" illusion, many suffer from it)
