Linko90: I'm not sure why you think it's a good idea to attack me about this but I'll happily gift you some timeout to think it over.

Arundir: I will ignore the inherent threat in your answer and perhaps you should ask Judas about managing a community, he did a pretty good job incognito for a long time.

I was already angry about the change of the website, I get the mobile approach but even considering that, it is a mess. Then I get an E-Mail about a discount and when I log in the discount is not what it is supposed to be, then I did find this thread with a mod posting a GG, which comes along as a haha, hard luck. It is also directed at the company, aswell as towards the 44GB Download of every iteration of Divinity Original Sin 2.

I do not even recognize TinyE anymore after he got heavily attacked by some nutjob jealous users and bot-voted into oblivion. I am sure GOG can lose another customer with 770+ game llbrary.

Oh you just did, bye.
The size of your library does not make you exempt from the rules of the forum. Be 1 game or 1,000. If you can't stick to the rules, expected to be met with moderation.

That was not my point and you know it and when you want to ban me for saying "where the sun does not shine" lol, then do it.
Your answer should have been, it was a mistake and we are sorry for that, not a GG.

The GG was for those who managed to grab the accidental deal, not a taunt to those who didn't. I don't understand what you're so upset about.

Yes, it is both at the same time if you do not get it, for those who managed and those who did not. Not so hard to understand why it is a bad answer for a mess up of a company.

I still don't understand what you're angry about. It was just Linko's way of saying "If you managed to grab it while it was 75% off then lucky you". What, do you expect GOG to apologise for a mistake that didn't inconvenience anyone but themselves?
Do you apologise to everyone in the room when you stub your toe?

Full disclosure, I saw the email and bought the game for 75% off. It didn't even occur to me that it was a mistake until I saw this thread, I just saw a game that was on my wishlist for a price that I was willing to pay.

If it happened one time per year, an "Ouch!" is enough.
But GOG often have similar bugs and they never apology.

GOG really do not want their customers to buy games here.
Evidence:
[1] A LOT OF hidden promo that buried under the poor designed website, without countdown clock.
[2] 4~5 hours delayed Daily Deal (You know, one day only have 24 hours.)

Users that rarely read the forum, will never find those hidden promo.

Am I the only one who find Linko90's comments sounds the most aggressive here? I often read a discussion, which seems to be completely fine, people just sharing their points of view, sometimes complaining, sometimes being tired or angry of something - day as always on every forum - and suddenly Linko90 appears with his EXPECT TO BE MET BY MODERATION, OBEY OR BE BANNED, SUCH BEHAVIOR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED etc. Are you some kind of retired military commander, dog trainer or sth?

Uh.

I'm pretty much in favor of such bugs.

Could we have more of them, plz ?

Most of those bugs just show a wrong discount on email, while in fact they have a zero or lower discount.
GOG did have ridiculous and wrongly high discount for some specific games, but they fixed those bugs soon, like the Hob case.

And the consequence is that, for a short while, until the bug is fixed, GOG loses money, by having people buy games at a discount that was not intended by the publishers. And just goes "oh well, good for you, customer" when you benefit from it.

Anyway, since you have demonstrated, with irrefutable evidence, that they "do not want their customers to buy games here", it's one more opportunity to ruthlessly spite them by buying some. Yaaar, no pity, no mercy.

Exactly, I don't know the ins and outs but they'd probably be within their rights to cancel and refund all the orders that got it at the wrong price, instead they pay the difference out of their own pocket and let you keep the game.

And some people are complaining that they didn't get the game at the cheaper (wrong price) and somehow this makes GOG evil...

I'm really getting sick of my fellow GOG customers...
"I do not even recognize TinyE anymore..."

But on a serious note, as anyone who saw my original posts in here (which I have since edited), I was super fu&%in pissed about this, but I realized a short time later that shit happens, and mistakes get made. I'm not going sit here and condemn them for it, SO LONG as they own up to it and take actions to avoid errors like this in the future.

Does anyone here thing they deliberately did this to screw us? NO WAY. They have Galaxy for that. :D

It's done, they are sorry. Let's move on.

Sometimes GOG took too much money and they do not refund automatically.

When GOG released The Curse of Monkey Island™, they silently changed the discount at least twice, within 48 hours.
GOG did provide refund for those who paid too much, BUT you have to submit a GOG Support ticket in the first place.

For people that did not read forum regularly, they just paid more, and do not know they could get refund.

If I understand right, they didn't "take too much money". They had a discount at which you decided to buy and sometime after that the discount for the same item increased. It was very nice of them to refund you the difference as I doubt there are legal regulations to force them to do that.
