It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi all! :)

It’s not a secret that GOG.com, the platform and community gathered around it, is growing at an exceptional rate all around the world. We keep that in mind as we look for ways to improve our service for everyone. Obviously, one of the most important functions for all of you is downloading your purchases - preferably as fast and as reliably as possible.

For some of you this might sound familiar (yep it’s our 3rd time!), once again we are in the process of benchmarking various download locations, and trying to get the most representative sample of worldwide results. That means as many unique ISPs / cities / countries as possible, and we need a little help from you! :) Below you will find a simple test that requires just one click and won't take more than 2 minutes of your time to complete:
http://www.gog.com/2015_cdn_test

Your help is greatly appreciated here! Of course you can run the test as many times as possible (preferably at different locations and different times of day). Oh, and keep in mind that we used a little bit of Flash in this test, so if you want to participate please make sure you have the flash player installed and/or your are not using any flash blocking plugins in your browser.

Test done

Raneenjah: Using Flash for these tests was probably not a good idea. My flash plugin crashed during test #2, and that's it. My lack of RAM (512 MB) is probably the cause of this. GOG downloader works fine on my computer, but Flash tends to overload and crash.
same here with 1GB RAM :(

Are these tests getting slower, or is this just how awful Flash is?

Edit: Yep, tested http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest a HTML5 test and that was downright blazing compared to Flash.

I have plenty of RAM (16 GB), so that's not a problem for me. But I'm still having serious issues getting this test to finish successfully.

It has completed successfully once in Firefox. I ran it in IE a couple of times, but that didn't really work that great.

Most of the times when I ran it in Firefox, the test continue to run (my CPU is working, my network card is working, which I can see on my network and CPU meters on my desktop). Flash seems to be eating RAM, albeit slowly, and the percentage meter on the CDN test page stops.

I have created a videoclip, where you can see the test run twice in Firefox, and I show how the test doesn't complete, but the download seems to be continuing. However, I'm not allowed to post links here it would seem, so I've attached it as a picture.

(I can't understand why I'm not a trusted user. I've purchased a ton of games at GOG. Surely I should be trusted to post a link to youtube?)

Nope, after the change, the test doesn't work anymore for me.
At 53% it started using too much memory for my poor old pc and Firefox crashed.

(Btw, the bars don't match the percentage at all)

Oh, this is the right topic.
Anyway it crashes for me :( but i got this on speedtest : http://i59.tinypic.com/x570yf.jpg
Can't account for 1GB download speed?

I could be wrong and someone feel free to correct me if I am but I believe it's because your rep score is so low. Not sure what the minimum rep is to post links.

Anyways, just finished another test, much slower then my first two times(a few days ago) but still ran under two minutes without any problems.

Amother test done today... took 1 minute 39 seconds.
Get a GOG torrent tracker, Like I said many times before.

Did the test seems to be under a minute on Win XP, will test on Win 7 later my speed is nearly 2 x faster on that OS

I Agree with others, there should be a Report so we can copy & paste the results.

I ran the test again, and once again Test#1 was incredibly slow, but Test#2 was a lot faster.
