I noticed that with R16, when using the restart key combination (default: CTRL+ALT+HOME) Game Link wasn't being shutdown properly. When DOSBox restarts it essentially reloads its .EXE again and then quits. This new DOSBox instance wasn't able to initialise Game Link (since the outgoing dosbox wasn't shutting it down properly) and so you'd get an error message about it.

All platforms are affected, please re-download from here to ensure correct restarting operation:

Also the Windows version will not longer create spurious system tray icons when running in standard, non-video streaming mode (and restarting won't leave a big trail of them in your system tray, which is how I first realised there was a problem).

There are some more complete maps available from the download page. Thanks go to Watser for generously sending them in.

Newly added:

The Bard's Tale II: The Destiny Knight
The Bard's Tale III: Thief of Fate
Might and Magic II: Gates to Another World

Noice!
Much appreciated!

Not sure... Maybe maybe one of the streamers from Twitch will, or could, release Ultima maps, at some point... I've seen them being made, currently finishing Ultima 3.
- I guess that can take the fun out of it though...

Kilg0re Tr0ut, who has been playing Ultima on stream, has mentioned sending me his maps at some point when he feels he's tidied them sufficiently. I'll try and make a post here when he does.

;) yah, that is the gentleman I was referring to as well. I think he completed U3 and is now playing and mapping Ultima 4.

Hi, I've yet to upgrade my mac to High Sierra - does anyone here run that o/s version, and does it cause any problems with Grid Cartographer?
I "guess" High Sierra is fine with DOSBox and Grid Cartographer.
But Apple will soon drop support for 32-bit software. It could be a problem.

Unofficial patched DOSBox for 64-bit only Mac

Thanks - I hadn't realised they were doing that but it should be okay in terms of 64-bit support.

Grid Cartographer itself has been 64-bit on mac forever I think, that latest version certainly is. I'm not sure whether that extends to the Custom DOSBox on my website - but I built that on the same machine and according to the link you posted it should be 64-bit as well, since my mac is running Sierra (10.12).

High Sierra is the last macOS that support 32-bit libraries/applications.
If your DOSBox forked from upstream's vanilla repository, I think they are still 32-bit.
I downloaded your DOSBox source code but never checked it. :-P

Yeah it's a clone of the official SVN repo. I'll keep an eye on things when 10.14 comes out.

I'll probably update to High Sierra at some point too, but my plan is to release 407 on Steam first and I don't want to be caught out by a problem where I wish I was still on Sierra.
Today I've submitted my store page and build v4.0.7 to Valve for review. It's happening.

Version 4.0.8 is now available!
http://gridcartographer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=1873

The major change is to add a volume control and pause/reset/power-off menu for Game Link.
You'll need to update Custom DOSBox to R17 to continue using it.

This will also be used as the Steam release (on the 19th): https://store.steampowered.com/app/684690/Grid_Cartographer_4/

---

As you may know, LibRetro support is coming. It's going well and a ton of work has gone into it so far, but still has some important bits left to do and isn't ready for the public yet - I didn't want to delay the release any further. Hopefully this will appear properly and unrushed, in the next version or so.
