Nice to see this continuing to go through iteration. I'm looking forward to trying out the Game Link feature; you had just started working on it when I was doing my M&M1 playthrough and I'd like to use it for M&M2 (which has an in-game map but it's super bare bones) as well as all the other games you're currently supporting once I get to them in my monstrous backlog.

The full list of games that currently support auto-tracking is:

* Eye of the Beholder 1
* Forgotten Realms: Unlimited Adventures
* Might and Magic 1
* Might and Magic 2
* Pool of Radiance
* Wizardry 1
* Wizardry 6

Like you say the one provided with MM2 is pretty basic and doesn't let you add notes, etc. like GC does - Plus now in v4 you can run in split screen mode and have the map on screen at all times.

Good luck with the backlog ;-)

With the new gamelink feature can you still run games seperatly and have the auto-tracking like before? Because when using gamelink as output mode the game I tried runs rather sluggish.

Yes the older system still works but doesn't carry video. (That way also lets you run dosbox and Grid Cartographer on separate machines if you like, which would definitely sprad the load further.)

The instructions for that are the same as v3 - and you can find the details here:

Great, I'll be upgrading asap. Between v4's release and ink going open sauce, I don't have an excuse to not work on my game =)

Ok good. Because the problem is with the game, it always ran very sluggish except for one of the available output modes. Definitely not a problem with the load or my computer trust me ;-)

Thanks! Is your game something GC can be improved upon to make your life easier (if you take my meaning) ? - or is it just a case of kicking your own ass to get started! (been there lol)
Just chiming in to say, the V3-->V4 Pro upgrade process went painlessly; and I saved a little change by first purchasing V3 the other day, and then upgrading it (vs. having waited for V4 and buying on launch discount).

One minor glitch - the in-program Ctrl-V paste the KEY didn't work for me (key copied from Notepad). No biggie - I manually typed it in and it worked. I only mention it since in-game it does suggest using Ctrl-V to paste the code.

Also, I'd previously voted for it on the GOG wishlist - now I also added a comment.

Good luck with Grid Cartographer!
Congratulations on the new release! I always like to read what's changed with the program even though I'm not yet a user.

Thank you that's kind of you to post a comment. I hope that they cave in one day and add GC, it would mean a lot :)

Also thanks for the bug report. I'll make a note and see if I can reproduce it. Sorry that I overlooked that - I use Textpad exclusively and don't even think I've loaded notepad on this install of Windows.

Here's a quick look / let's play video showing off Grid Cartographer 4 + Eye of the Beholder

(also, check out the other let's plays on his channel as they're also very good)
I've just updated the Linux builds to fix a problem with cutting/pasting into text boxes not working.

Download build 682 here:

I just got around to testing this but I was unable to reproduce it on Windows 10 x64.

Hmm ... maybe notepad on there doesn't work the same ( if you're on a different O/S ) ?
As a data point, on Windows 10 x64 I copied my key from Edge to GC no problem. Given how simple Notepad is I'd be more inclined to guess there was a missing character when first copied to Notepad.
