The HD Edition will include updates to the game's visuals--shown in the gallery of screenshots below--as well as a Japanese voice acting track, gamepad support, and a new, harder difficulty level.
Good news, looking foward to this since i never actually finished the game, one of my dreamcast cd's was damaged. I just hope that they don't overcharge for this, 20€ max.
There's actually an error in that article - Grandia 2 had already been released on the PC in the past. Pain in the fucking arse to get it working on modern PCs though.
I want Grandia 1 :(
Nice, I'll be sure to buy it during a huge sale due to regional pricing.
It is amazing that a fairly major gaming site makes that mistake about it being the first time it's released on PC.
well, technically it's the first time the HD edition's been on the pc...
Looks like GungHo heard us in that survey they posted a while back. I've always wanted to play the Grandia games so I'll be buying day one or close to it. Hopefully we'll see the first game here eventually as well.

Those screenshots they show don't look HD at all. The images are 4:3, the text and character portraits are jagged, and the models don't look any better than the PS2 port. Are we sure this is what the HD version is going to look like? If so...yikes.
Any Grandia game that comes to GOG.com is always welcome, the more the merrier... ^_^
Wasn't the PC version of Grandia II quite buggy? I hope they also fix the bugs instead of only polishing the graphics.

Fine by me. The less they fuck with a game, the better.

Fair enough. I mean, I'm buying it either way. I just don't see how they can claim that it is HD.

A dude from GungHo confirmed on GAF that they're going to be implementing resolution settings and a 16:9 mode.

Same here, man I loved the original Grandia, I think it was the first game I ever played more than 100 hours without being bored. The skill system was a lot of fun, even though it was sort of a grindfest
