Not sure what is made available (though GOG did say once that it'd take tens of thousands of codes being purchased for resale from cheap regions to make them take note and consider doing something about it... not that what they said once counts for much), but somehow doubt publishers care enough to analyze and make changes. It's a pretty standard pricing scheme that Steam offers as default and most just accept and then apply elsewhere as well, and once GOG caved to it, that's that.

Saw indie devs post more than once in threads about regional pricing for their games that they have no idea what this is all about, either just accepted what was filled in or had some firms handle it entirely and just accepted what those offered them, since they just want to make games and not bother with these details.

Is there any place where I can find a direct correspondence between regions and actual countries?

I mean, I'm assuming regAU means Australia, and regBR means Brazil, but there are some other region descriptors that I cannot tell which country they correspond...

Plus, I'm also assuming that most (if not all) of these regions include more than one country: e.g. most of the countries in the EU have regional prices but not all of them are represented in these regions (where are France or Spain, for instance?)

Thanks! :)

Of course. Table VIII.

P.S. France is in Northern Eurozone (DE). Spain is in Southern Eurozone (IT).

A "fun" experiment for anyone living in the US (or actually anywhere except regCN, regRO and regRS). Try to gift Spacecom and see the price change from your local price to $14.99.

This means that regUS is not the default region-free region for GOG. The default they use is regCN.

Still, MaGog will continue to use regUS as the baseline because I really don't want to have to explain to people why the US has two regionally-priced games.

You do name that one "most of the world", don't you? Seems like it was more aptly named than you thought when you picked the name then.

Could it be that they're giftable at the highest price charged?

"Gift prices in your region are equivalent to the games' region-free price. Due to this, gift codes purchased directly on GOG.com can be redeemed globally with no regional restrictions. If you're shopping for yourself, deselect the "GIFT THIS ORDER" option to purchase at your local price."
Interesting...
A more interesting thing is that The Witcher 3 can now be gifted... and probably all other games.
