As you may know, there used to be a thread called "Regional Priced Games on GOG", where people used to post reports regarding changes in game prices in different regions. Technically, that thread still exists, but it has already approached the court to allow it to be disconnected from its life support systems, and it appears the court is likely to view this favourably, given that today the number of regionally priced games on GOG has risen from 132 to 930.

It was therefore suggested that I begin a new thread to post (and discuss) all manner of price-related updates, similar to the "What did just update?" thread, which deals with all other types of updates. Hence, this thread.

Good news indeed :)
Cheers, favoured it.
Great title.

We should continue all discussions in here, at least that's what I'll do.
From MaGog's logs for 2 April:

For those new to MaGog's price reports, all prices are in USD and ignore any ongoing sales. If you don't know what these two letter regions codes mean, refer to "The Matrix".

Nice new home for this discussion.

Flat prices aren't entirely dead, but the breeding population numbers are so low that they are at risk of extinction.

They are just a formality now, I reckon eventually GOG will still keep atleast one game flat priced so every now and then they can point to it "Look we haven't given up on it" when once in a while someone directly objects. Now I am waiting to see how long it takes to drop the Fair price package next.

So what we feared at the introduction of regional pricing and what was denied by GOG has happened. The Community being on the fence, saying:"GOG, we do not want all the games to be regionally priced, stay to your stated principles.". The answer: " Do not fear, it is only to get triple A titles and get the new big games to GOG. All the other games will be flat priced."

A sad day.

I'm a biologist whose career is in ecosystem conservation. So these metaphors come easily to mind. :)

well, then i hope for you that there is a type i traveling-wave-solution of our regional priced-flat priced system that prevents the extinction and leads at least to coexistence :)

I have faith in a couple of publishers (Arkane Studios, Playdom) that will make sure that at least two games always remain flat priced: "Arx Fatalis" and "The Incredible Machine Mega Pack".

If not, I'm at least keeping a local genebank of these games on hard-drive, in case GOG ever decides they want to rewild the populations. ;)

Yes, I think Arx Fatalis will always be one price. Anything else might lead to someone paying slightly less, however fractional that difference, which will not be brooked.

People always remember Arx Fatalis, but TIM is the (only) other game that has not been on sale in years.
