I was mostly wondering if it wasn't another hiccup on GOG's part with all the additional issues the site and forum have lately. Like when the site software added random numbers next to usernames a few years back.
You're probably right, though I find it strange that someone would request a username change their username within the month they registered, only to switch to something that differentiates from the initial one by the added digit...

That can't be the case - posts made with one account don't/wouldn't retroactively switch to the username of the other account.
