An event like this happens only once a year – our Anniversary!

We’ve been here for 17 years; that’s quite a lot of time of making games live forever! For this occasion, we prepared something special: even though it’s our birthday, you’re the one getting gifts. Visit our store every day for a surprise!

And of course, here’s some of the deals:
Cyberpunk 2077 (-65%)
Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition (-60%)
Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete (-50%)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition (-80%)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Gold Edition (-35%)
Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition (-25%)
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon (-10%)

…and more!

Anniversary ends on October 7th, 7 AM UTC. Check it out!

I don't mind it being SH f, but why does that get a full row when Clair Obscur didn't? Only answer I can think of is GOG using the full row to seem like an "extra big deal" and get a lot of people checking out the store on Oct. 7; if so, that feels pretty dishonest to me but what's done is done.

Maybe there'll also be a giveaway as a loss-leader.

Or maybe Monday is SH f and Tues is a "coming soon" for something really big like Freelancer/MS releases.

ReynardFox: I have a sinking feeling the final day 'special' reveal is going to be that bloody awful new game that's pretending its part of the Silent Hill franchise...
HEY, don't forget you got Clair Obscur. ;) Just because it's not for you doesn't mean other people won't like it; it's got good reviews on Steam and elsewhere, and 4300+ votes on the Dreamlist.

Didn't say they couldn't, I just don't think it it's a very good game, or one that deserves the Silent Hill name and I'm allowed to express that, and it's not like there weren't multiple people crapping on Clair Obscur in its release thread. :p

Plus ever since I saw a datamined list containing multiple games I want more than even Clair Obscur, I'm feeling especially impatient. Sometimes I wish all these behind the scenes peeks never came out to get my hopes up.

So anyone bought something from the store since the sale has started ?

ReynardFox: I'm afraid I don't see how this is Silent Hill when there's no real horror, only some gross imagery, everything is overly washed out and brightly lit, enemies and combat repeat so frequently and with such janky dark-souls wannabe mechanics that I don't see anything as scary, just annoying and repetitive. The psychological elements don't work for me either as they are so on the nose and pretentious it just makes me roll my eyes.

The whole "Chinese made game set in Japan with heavy anti-family subtext" thing really gives the game a jingoist vibe that really rubs me the wrong way.
If I played it like, 15 years younger I'd be shitting my bed for months (roughly estimate), some of the levels are genuinely scary if you let yourself get immersed in the symbolism and implications, it's just a different type of horror, more akin to something like Soma imo

Also if you think the game is simply "anti-family" you REALLY missed the whole point

I agree there's too much mandatory combat near the end tho, I'm fine with the game throwing enemies at me since I can just run past them, but yeah the bloated enemies can go fuck themselves

The forum regulars hate GOG too much to ever support them. ;)

The new TR games seem to be selling pretty well, assuredly because of their deep discounts. They've all stayed in the top 10. I'm sure Exp33 will sell more when it gets deeper discounts, but it seems to be doing okay for an almost full price game everyone bought elsewhere already.

Breja: If it was The Witcher merch at least... the Cyberpunk gadgets just aren't very appealing. But at least it's something I guess.

SultanOfSuave: GOG were going to announce a triple A title today and give it away to their loyal customers for free, but they read this comment.
Lol. Looks like they listen to me!

Ok guys, tomorrow it's Battle for Middle-Earth time!

Is it me, or did there use to be more Witcher merch? I remember there being more figures and t-shirts. And troll plushies! I could swear there were troll plushies.

I bought the new Tomb Raiders and Gungrave Gore, and if nothing else of interest comes out of this event, I'll be grabbing Clair Obscur.

I'm just giving you a little ribbing because your "that bloody awful new game that's pretending its part of the Silent Hill" sentence made it sounds like you believe what you said is factual rather than an opinion.

I got Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 & Tomb Raider.

I'm considering the Metro Franchise bundle & The Walking Dead.

CthuluIsSpy: Since when did GOG have a discord?
The official one exists since February 2023.

Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and the remastered Tomb Raiders (I-VI). I like that GOG does frequent sales, but also it's a lot of the same games getting the same discount each time. So unless there has been a new release since the last big sale, not a lot of point.

Any gaming store sale will eventually become stale after years. Which sucks

After having been on sale for the first time in over three years, a year would be quite an improvement already.
