Just discovered the upload for GOGPlus Download Checker v2.2 was missing from the GitHub page, no idea why ... perhaps I got interrupted during an edit.

This is a minor update, that has better support for PDF files using PDFcpu (pdfcpu.exe), which can be downloaded from the following GitHub link.

PLEASE NOTE
For those of you who like me, use this checker for Itch.io game downloads, you might also be interested in a new program of mine, Bundle Compare, which helps with comparing the content of the various bundles, and keeping tab on what you've downloaded etc.

GOGRepo Simple GUI v1.7 has been released.

Releases - https://github.com/Twombs/GOGRepo-GUI/releases

Information - https://github.com/Twombs/GOGRepo-GUI/tree/master/Simple_GUI

Latest release with improvements and a specific bugfix for a more recent gogrepoc.py fork by Kalanyr.

NOTE - To use gogrepoc.py with my GUI, it must be renamed to gogrepo.py. I have included it in the zip file download with the patch by mrkgnao implemented.

There are discussions about the above starting at the following.

Patch

Updating Titles Issue

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FYI - While I have not done a release for v1.6, and probably don't recommend using it, especially now, it has been available from the following. It was an experiment, that appears to have worked.

https://github.com/Twombs/GOGRepo-GUI/tree/master/Simple_GUI/v1.6

Basically I have compiled a version of gogrepo.py into an executable (gogrepo.exe), which probably means you don't need to have Python and extra Python libraries installed. I haven't been able to test on a Python free PC yet to double check. It is really only available for posterity and for those who might feel like having a play with it.

Sorry, I have an issue regarding your program GOGPlus Download Checker v2.4:

When I unpack the zip file with 7zip I see a error message ("Warning:There are some data after the end of the payload data"). If I use winRAR, it is ok. After all, it is no exe file located in the unpacked folder! Windows Defender delete it instantly.
With VirusTotal I get 3 findings from 3 engines.

I would like to use the program. What can I do (or could you do something)?

Thanks!

It sounds like your AV is causing the issue.

And nothing am I right, from all the other engines?
So in reality you have three false positives, which is a regular occurrence with programs created with AutoIt.
Some AV are a bit slow at keeping up-to-date, with Windows Defender often being one of those.

If you got a lot more than 3 findings, then I'd be worried. But as it is only three, I would either wait a few days, until Windows Defender at least, is no longer giving a false positive, or you can do as I do, and just add an exception for GOGPlus Download Checker.exe in your AV.

Unfortunately, this is often a matter of timing, and you've been affected, whilst many other downloaders haven't been, or you would see their posts in this thread and or at GitHub. So if you are troubled about trusting me, just consider that, and I wouldn't want to tarnish my reputation with GOG, considering how many games I have bought from them, so there is that too.

Cheers!

P.S. If you do make it an exception in your AV, and you still get an unzip error, I would be concerned that something may have infected or corrupted the file, somewhere on its journey from me to you. I extracted my copy with 7-Zip without issue.
Long delay, sorry, but thank you for your reassuring reply (I have not forgotten)!

Now I get no more false positives, but when unpacking with 7zip (latest version) still comes the unpacking error mentioned in my last post. I downloaded their latest update again from GitHub - still the same result.

What version of 7-zip are you using?
