randomuser.833: Anyway.
I did know that the states of the USA got different laws, but that a good part got 18. So I don't go with the lowest, but with the highest in doubt.
End of story.
Syphon72: This is why I'm done arguing about this. You nitpick specific points while most states have an age of consent below 18. The funny part is that most states where the age of consent is 18 are actually the more liberal and less religious places.
Also, I'm not talking about other groups; I was specifically addressing how the EU is just as problematic as the US, which you yourself have been complaining about.
Ironically, I wasn't discussing your laws. I mentioned that while you can legally pursue a 14-year-old in some places, even European citizens tend to look down on grown men who go after young women. This suggests that their morals aren't much different from those of people in the US.
You seem like a good person and keep going on about this, but it's clear this conversation is going nowhere. We'll just end up rambling at each other.
This to much for me arguing through a phone..haha
You specifically said "when the EU has been doing the same to other European countries"
Might bring an example...
Not the "country wants to join EU and has to fulfill certain requirements".
Not the "country wants to join Schengen and has to fulfill certain requirements"
Not the "country wants free trade with the EU and has to come to some common ground with the EU"
Because yeah, in those cases the smaller follows the bigger one - one reason why small countries wants to be part of the big one.
For one thing sorry, i misread looked down as locked down.
Still, not the same morals in Europe and US, sorry but no, simply no. There is a bit of a common ground, but so many differences...
I know people from the US who moved here and they claim only half jokingly its 2 different strains of humankind...
But if we want to argue from a moral standpoint. Every European I know finds little Miss shows disgusting and being an extreme sexulisation of children.
And I don't understand how that works with those high standard morals.
And sorry, but if you don't know what specific border somebody is mentioning, when going back to his own morals and laws.
You don't think he is talking about the absolute minimum that is possible...
Gawgstopo: I weep for my ancestral homeland...all the post-war sanctions have turned it into a shell of what it once was. I'll leave it at that.
Yeah, at last in Germany the controlling directing and for the people deciding state is smaller then it was ever before and people got much more freedom then ever before since 1949 (or 1990 for the eastern part).
Not to speak about freedom of press and freedom of science being much larger then it was ever before in anything that might be claimed "Germany" from the past (read, the first real German state was founded in 1871, before that there was never a unified "Germany").
Thought different - you don't know history.
