00063: Nope, most of this games are trash! And just because YOU like it doesn't mean we all have to swallow this garbage!

Sabin_Stargem: That is dumb. Perverse games tend to have lower production values for two reasons:

1: There weren't as many people being able to openly develop these games, so their skills couldn't grow nor could they experiment much. For the last five or so years, I have been seeing many western hentai projects getting much better art, customization, and creativity.

2: Money. If you can't afford to give developers a living wage, then it is harder for people to team up and create quality games. By being forced to work in the shadows, developers of perverse games couldn't afford bread for their tables. They needed 'real' jobs and stockpile enough wealth to safely create their games.

People who call perverse games slop, aren't thinking about WHY. It has nothing to do with sex itself, but rather how morality police have done their best to suppress culture.
Actually from what I read some of them are actually pretty good games even in the only games sense.
And I really wonder if he calls good Rpgmaker or Pixelart games slop too, I mean that is pretty low production values right there......

I wish they added Bastard Bonds for that matter ;)

Hope they earmark games at risk of removal early so we have a chance to grab them first. Itch.io getting hit was a total shock. They’re creating demand for an alternate payment system. It’s very disconcerting. Who has the clout to get credit card companies to compromise their reputation as THE neutral alternative to cash payment? Collective shout feels like just the tip of the iceberg. They are being very careful to avoid drawing attention to their activities. I am very sorry GOG got affected too. I wonder if this group is also responsible for the original Cyberpunk/Witcher developer team disbanding? Disapproval for all of the adult content there? What will the Witcher 4 or Project Orion look like at this rate?
GOG pushing back against payment processor pressure with a free NSFW bundle ....

Well, at least it is a nice idea. To be fair, i am opposed against this content but i do understand the current sentiment. It is never nice to be told by someone else you can or can't do something any more which you previously could.
If anyone wants to support R18 games on GOG while also getting a fantastic RPG, Demons Roots is on sale right now! (why yes, I'm not hiding my shilling)
Can I claim each game separately? I don't want some of those.

Nope, is all or nothing.

just hide them in your library
I would like to claim some of the games, but in New Zealand: "Postal 2" and "Lust Theory" are both banned and thus are illegal to buy, import and own (digital included). The penalties for breaching the law are heavy including imprisonment and massive fines.

If I click on an individual game "Claim" button, I just get redirected to claim the entire bundle which is poisoned by these 2 illegal games.

Can I have individual Claim codes please? Otherwise I can claim zero!

_ChaosFox_: Erm, no, they don't. If they make a big promotional campaign about "standing up to censorship" and then cave at the mere threat that it might violate some nation or another's draconian laws, then it's just lip service.

China's bizarre obsession with Pooh Bear memes and mentions of Taiwan as a separate country.

Germany's draconian censorship laws that abuse the constitutional principle of "youth protection", even though it is more about moral panic rather than protecting youth.

Russia's attempts to suppress any mention or endorsement of LGBTQ+ content.

You cannot make a meaningful stand against creeping censorship without standing up to dictatorial regimes like China, Russia and increasingly the US, or making a stand against ideology-driven bureaucrats like those in Germany or the UK. Laws are not inherently just or correct, and if the likes of GOG and Valve just cave at the first threat, what hope is there for gaming?
Don't be silly. There's a large difference between "standing up" to corporations and governments. The corporations have limited means to punish you, even with their far reaching spread. Governments, on the other hand have a lot more power and reach.

If you thought GOG standing up was anything but lip service to begin with, you haven't been paying attention. It's very easy to advocate standing for principles with other peoples' money.

Laws may not inherently be right, but they are inherently right in the countries in which they exist until someone overturns them. As long as someone has the ability to enforce a law, it is right. I don't agree with all the laws on the books, but I don't go trying to get arrested or sued for breaking them, either.

In that case the better (or only) is to use a VPN, a secure one.

Ps: can you use this code? freedomtobuygames

Now if you claim a copy appears this code: FREEDOMTOBUYGAMES

Code expires on Aug 3, 2032

It's not a VPN issue. I can claim just fine without a VPN if I choose. The issue is that it makes me a criminal as ownership is illegal in NZ. Can you understand the issue here? I cannot claim the entire bundle as this would be illegal. I can see the bundle, click the button - but if I follow through on the code redemption page, then I incriminate myself due to NZ law.

At present, my ownership and account is all legal because I do not own the banned games.

Have you seen this post of Palestine (user), maybe is helpful for you?

Yes I have seen the post. If I go to say Treasure Of Nadia gog page, "add to cart" - the game is not free. I don't understand how any advice from the user helps me cherry pick a specific game from the bundle. It's all or nothing - tell me otherwise.

Yep, that option does not list separate game titles, just the named bundle.

You could probably get away with the purchase as such, as you did not pay money and if you don't actually download the banned games.

It's not like they have access to your GOG account, and if you don't have the files for the banned games on your PC, then where is the proof of anything illegal. There won't be any record of you downloading them.

Can't tell you otherwise because that's how it is.
Must say you're the first user I've seen who's set against getting a game because it's illegal in their country. Typically (and rightfully, imho) the questions are about how to get around those (utterly idiotic) bans (that shouldn't exist in the first place and against which we must fight tooth and nail).
But yeah, if you're set against getting what's illegal in your country, you can't get any of the games, since the bundle is all or nothing.
