I just read that GOG severed ties with Kagura. It is their right to do. Just wanted to tell them that I have created a Kagura accound and a JAST account to buy those games GOG is refusing to sell me. So every cent I spent there is money lost to GOG. I hope they are happy that they listened to the vocal minority instead of reason.

I said it so many times: they just should have put this damn filter in place for those who dislike these games and be done with it. Most of the naysayers would not even know anymore that it is possible to buy these games here. They decided to focus on other stuff instead. They think that their actual begging program (see checkout) or the PR preservation program (which does not preserve a thing if we are honest) or the community wishlist remastered aka dreamlist would really help them ... at the same time they slap a part of their userbase directly into their face. Thank you very much.

Just wanted to say it out loud. I am well aware that GOG is not reading the forum posts anyway ....

Edit: Here can you find a screenshot as actual proof:

Ah sorry ... (see screenshot):

Without this screenshot I would not believe any rumours about this but Kagura stating that they got an e-mail seems to be pretty safe information.

Interesting. It'd be nice to know more, but information is usually scarce. GOG currently sells 105 games from Kagura, and just 5 hours ago they've sent me an e-mail promoting adult-only games, so they can't be against the theme. A store doesn't refuse additional income just because. They're either not accepting any new NSFW games because of the payment processors whining, or if they do, then something else must have transpired between GOG and Kagura Games.
''We're a game store, but we decided not to sell games of a certain sub-genre.'' is indeed a weird flex. Especially considering, despite loud criticism, NSFW games sell actually very favorably.

GOG just being GOG I guess. :<
Atleast there's no delisting(s).

Them still sending semi-nsfw e-mails is funny. :D (Haven't actually checked newsletter)
Guess it all depends if and when they add new Erotica games to the catalogue. That way it's certain it's just with Kagura...

You are barking up the wrong tree. This isn't on GOG.

The whole industry is currently under pressure because a moralist group puts pressure on payment processors to put pressure on game stores to not sell smut.

See here.

Let them be transparent for a change and explain the situation then. Right now the information we have does not really paint a picture of GOG that I would like ... but I am always willing to change my POV and my opinion on things. In any case I wanted to make clear that they lost money if it is true what's stated in the screenshot.
Release date November 9, 2024 was the last game i see have released here from kagura games and Shiravune, Co-FUN Games just released a game on June 17, 2025 with a release date.

We don't know yet if this has anything to do with the Kagura issue - that's pure assumption. The screenshot displays a discussion that happened before Steam removed certain games.

I'm not surprised by who is applying the pressure. It appears to be some radical feminist group...

I saw. But the campaign against game porn through pressure from payment processors has been ongoing for a few months already and the two incidents are close enough in time that the probability of them being related is very high.

After all, Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, etc. would most likely not only write to Steam alone. GOG can't really do anything about this. They have to conform with the demands or lose access to payment services.

It is still just an assumption. And right now GOG did not remove any of these games in opposite of Steam. So not accepting a new game from a certain publisher and delisting a lot of games already published are still two different things.
Kagura was the Micronics of porn games. To lose them was to lose nothing. Say, did GOG ever unpublish that game that used obviously melty AI art?

At least High Tech Expressions would actually hire better developers, like Rare.
