Temple of Apshai Trilogy is already available on Steam:

Rogue will be available on Thursday:

Dear GOG, is there at least one fair reason why you ignore such legendary games like Rogue?

"Curation"
Could just be GOG's general issues right now answering any emails, during the pandemic, but could also be that games that old sell very poorly and they don't treat them like priorities. On Steam anyone can upload anything pretty much, as long as they give Gaben his cut.
Well, as another user posted - I can't remember who, this is a free recreation of rogue by its authors.

I think it should just be a free game, like Akalabeth is on GOG. Anyway it was announced for yersterday, still not on Steam and still no price, and it is uncler to me if the actual developers are getting paid.
Rogue is literally open source. Just like Sim City Classic, you can pick it up literally anywhere.

As for the Temple of Apshai trilogy, I'm pleasantly surprised to see it. Not enough to buy it, but a "Hey, cool!" I can appreciate it from a historical context.

Maybe it's just me but it doesn't seem as bad as it used to be?
They still have a long way to go considering that certain titles with a considerable amount of wishlist votes are still missing, for one reason or another, but over the last 12 months or so it was a bit like as if curation had common sense and decided to act with rhyme and reason for a change.
Grimoire, Arabian Nights, The Quest, Legends of Amberland, etc probably still would be absent if there wasn't at least a bit of re-evaluation of the curation process or improvement in general. That's what I'm getting from said titles being finally on GoG. And hopefully more to follow over the next 12 months.

In regards to Rogue, Dunjonquest: Temple of Apshai and the rest of Pixel Games' catalogue:

Why do you assume GOG is "ignoring" them? They can't just sell anything they want. It's much more frequently publishers/developers who ignore GOG, not the other way around.
Steam has been adding a lot of old games lately. At this point, I wont be shocked if Steam gets Dungeon Master 1+2 before GoG does, among other older classics that GoG lacks.
Really dissapointed with this, this is the very reason why I even bought my games on GoG so long ago. Just anti-DRM isn't enough of a niche to thrive on.

You haven't read THIS post, have you?

Pixel Games UK (the publisher of these games) tried to contact GOG to release these games here, but never got any response.

...which makes me wonder how many other old games GoG is ignoring or not taking calls for....
Didn't gog downsize some time ago? Perhaps they just don't have many people anymore

True. At least they are not using the "too niche" excuse anymore. So maybe it's just the lack of communication. We know that GOG gives us, their customers, the silent treatment more often than not. Maybe they do that to publishers too - unless they are of Epic size.
My understanding is that GOG always sends a receipt confirmation to biz dev contacts either way, so if they didn’t get a response either GOG didn’t see the initial e-mail at all or their reply didn’t reach the other party’s inbox.

I have to admit that I wouldn't want to buy that Temple of Apshai as it is apparently the worst possible version of the game, the CGA MS-DOS version. The same goes to those Infogrames games like Hostages! which were released on Steam awhile back.

Well, the only reason I might buy the CGA version was that I would get an ease of mind of playing the Amiga or Commodore 64 versions instead on emulators... Kind of "I have now paid for the game, so I can play the alternative version without remorse...".

Apparently "old classic CGA games" are even less so, especially if they appear on Steam too.

I really don't understand why anyone would want to play that shitty CGA version of the game, considering pretty much all the other platforms' versions are far superior. Well, maybe the Apple II version is almost as bad.
