== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

This is interesting, as GOG Galaxy overlay never worked for me in either Gwent or TW3 on the desktop running Win7 (Steam not running either). Even in the latest Galaxy 1.2.1 while I do get the little pop ups when the game finishes installing on both desktop and laptop (latter runs Win10), I get no notification when I start a game on the desktop and I go get a notification on the laptop that for example I'm now running Gwent and to press Shift Tab for more. I get no such notifications on the desktop and Shift Tab does not bring the overlay in either of the two games, while it does bring the overlay on the laptop. No idea what is causing this.

Anyone else having trouble with the overlay?
Hope the SW2 overlay gets fixed soon. MP doesn't work without it.

Might be notification center messages being turned off?

skeletonbow: Is there a way to force Galaxy to redownload the icon by mucking around with files or somesuch?
avatar
JudasIscariot: Verify & Repair should do the trick. I know it worked for me when I had an actual icon missing and then I fixed it.
Good call! That worked for me. Didn't even have to actually verify/repair the title, just had to activate the action before cancelling it. How strange.
I tried the 1.2 version yesterday again. Cloud saving is better now (still takes a while to sync 4GB of savefiles from my "The Witcher" but I guess that's normal. However when trying to play Witcher 3 again, having overlay and cloud saves turned on I got a huge performance drop in the game. I was wondering if I am the only one experiencing this with the 1.2 version of Galaxy? On a sidenote: chat in overlay still for me is nearly unusuable - barely no connection.
avatar
BKGaming: Am I the only one who is a little peeved by GOG not capitalizing all words on menus and other stuff like in the overlay.

For instance:

"Achievement unlocked" -> "Achievement Unlocked"
"Backup & goodies" -> "Backup & Goodies"
"Manage installation" -> "Manage Installation"
"View forum" -> "View Forum"
"View support" -> "View Support"
"View store page" -> "View Store Page"

These aren't sentences we're writing here... a little conformity would be nice. Capitalizing the first letter of each word just looks and flows better when not in a sentence. Not that it's a big deal or anything, to me it just looks more professional I guess.
Even though I don't think it's that crucial I do agree that it looks much better - and it probably a quick fix.

Reading all those comments however made me think and here is a very special suggestion to GOG:
Dear GOG, since you always are telling us that you are respecting our wishes and that you want to create the client WE like why don't you just simply talk to us before deciding radical new design decisions like the ones in the new "full" version (which imo is more beta than the actual beta release). *sigh*

Will offline gameplay time tracking be implemented in the April release?

Have a nice day! :)
The notifications in the new Galaxy preview are nice, but I think that they'd be even better on Windows 10 if it uses the native Notification Center implementation due to various benefits, one being that the notification remains in the Notification Center to be acted upon now or later, the other is that it would factor into the notification count on the Center, and also it would fit whatever configuration one has set for notifications system-wide like time-displayed.
I have posted a small tutorial on how to possibly get the overlay to work with some games that it is disabled on by default. Unfortunately GOG's forum software is not very kind to whitespace in code/config file examples so it mangled it, but it's something people can use to try to get the overlay to work and provide feedback in the thread as to their successes and failures:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_what_games_did_just_galaxy_overlay_support_work_with_thread/post33

The config file changes are the same types of changes previously used in Galaxy beta testing during 2016 using information provided previously to us by GOG developers. There are other tweaks that can be made as well, so I'll be posting other tutorials in the future likely, but any other beta testers or others who have tips of their own are welcome to contribute to the thread as well. People who want to keep tabs on overlay support may wish to flag the thread "favourite" as I'll be updating it as regularly as I'm able to find time for.
I can't wait for the command line parameters update, that'll be sweet, skippable intros huzzah!

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/set_launch_options_command_line_arguments_for_games

Please GOG, make it so! :D
I hope the overlay will get rolled out to more games soon, especially now that it has screenshot functionality. :)
Anyway, good job, GOG, I was starting to doubt Galaxy would ever come out of beta.
Whenever I play Witcher 3 a bit longer the Galaxy "Play" button is not turning back to green before I close Galaxy and retart it. Am I the only one with this problem?

Crap, yes this would be a nice feature enhancement for sure. In the mean time you can accomplish it by hand editing the goggame-*.info file inside the game installation directory, but it'd be nice to have a way to customize the options in-Galaxy. Voted.

If you exit a game back to Galaxy and the greyed out button doesn't restore to the green play button it usually means that the game process never actually exited even if it is not showing anywhere visible on the screen or task bar. Fire up Windows Task Manager and look for the game executable. Wait a brief period to see if it exits on its own, and if not then you can consider forcibly killing it. Then Galaxy should detect it is not running and make the button available again.

If the game executable is not running in the process list however, that's another story.

Hello,

I unchecked the update to test version and Galaxy downgrade itself from 1.2 to 1.1. Obviously I can't use it anymore... (Mantis ticket #4891, can't post link.)

Is there a link to download the 1.2 version, please? Can't found it.

Thank you.

The download link seems to be for the version 1.1.30.5. Can't find download URL for the new version.
BTW, it's great GOG allow to launch games even without Galaxy.
