Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

I don't know how GOG makes decisions, but if it is based on user feedback, I think I should post to back up the user previously who likes the download configuration options before the update.

As a note for the future, any change that takes user manipulation configuration out of the user's hands is bad. You can always make your changes, but leave the option for users to control things if they desire. I would consider it an update if you added more configurable options for the user to form the platform to the users specific needs.

Unless there is a reason for the change...
Am I the only one who is a little peeved by GOG not capitalizing all words on menus and other stuff like in the overlay.

For instance:

"Achievement unlocked" -> "Achievement Unlocked"
"Backup & goodies" -> "Backup & Goodies"
"Manage installation" -> "Manage Installation"
"View forum" -> "View Forum"
"View support" -> "View Support"
"View store page" -> "View Store Page"

These aren't sentences we're writing here... a little conformity would be nice. Capitalizing the first letter of each word just looks and flows better when not in a sentence. Not that it's a big deal or anything, to me it just looks more professional I guess.

I don't overly care because I don't use this computer much, but:
Probably: How do I fully uninstall GOG Galaxy from Mac?

Detail: I assume the above is the solution because when I was switching from 1.2 back to 1.1.3, I clicked too many things or mucked it up such that I had two instances of the updater running. One wasn't updating fast enough (or at all?) for my liking so I closed it and the other one finished. So, from that point and up to now including deleting as much from GOG Galaxy as I can (aided by AppCleaner which tries to find related files of a program https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/ ) and several reinstalls of GOG Galaxy, whenever I try to run GalaxyClient I get an untitled window that says "Fatal Error" in bold and "Failed to load game database." on the line below that. I click "OK" and the app closes.

Or maybe installing the next Mac .pkg version of GOG Galaxy whenever that becomes available will solve this problem?

Please remove /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Storage when you see the "Failed to load game database". You'll have re-import your games to the client.

It happened because you reverted client's version which could not recognize upgraded DB from 1.2.
Tried 1.2, and time tracking etc. still isn't working when launching a game from a desktop shortcut.

Game time tracking feature only works for games launched within Galaxy

TheTomasz: Game time tracking feature only works for games launched within Galaxy
I know, it'd just be more convenient if it worked for shortcuts as well. Adding /gameId=1207663333 /command=launch in GalaxyClient.exe's shortcut seems to work for opening galaxy with the specific game's tab open, so that's something.
So could a gog dev at least answer the fps counter question that so many people are asking but don't get any answer at all?

3 things:

* FPS counter currently seem only to work if you go into the "overlay". If you go back to the game, it disappears. Is that something that will be fixed in the near future? Obviously a fps counter is only useful while playing the game.

* Could you please add a "sort by installed games" filter to our library? That should be relatively easy to implement, but I know quite some people that look forward to this one.

* Achievements:

1.) Could yo make it possible to show ALL achievements? Currently a few games, like TW3, has hidden achievements. I already played though the whole game though and would like to see what I'm missing, without having to look up on the internet/3rd party services.

2.) Did you think about adding Bronze,Silver,Gold cups for your friends, instead of "Friend XY has 92% achievements " ?

Thanks in advance

Paweł
Why was the option to close on clicking "x" instead of minimizing to the tray removed? When I want to close something, I want it closed. If I want it minimized, I'll minimize it. Why do we have to "fix" things that aren't broken? It used to be an option.
Question: why is cloud save support only included for so few games? Are you guys looking to do big fancy rollouts every couple of months and milk these things for publicity? Because I'd really prefer to just have my cloud save support be universal.

Reminds me of how Mac games don't appear until a big batch suddenly does (though it's been several years since the last batch). Or how gog connect is gone.
avatar
Bluddy: Or how gog connect is gone.
GOG Connect's not gone. It comes from time to time on sales.
I'm very happy with 1.2 (the Galaxy team did an amazing job with this update regardless of how long it took), I really am but I'm afraid Galaxy isn't ready to leave beta. I think GOG is making a mistake pushing this as a released version so soon. I understood pushing Galaxy from alpha to beta because of the Witcher 3, even though it wasn't ready... we don't have the same need now. If you ask me, we just now truly entered beta with this update.

Anyway some things that should be looked at before that happens:

- Option to actually close Galaxy using "X" like there was before the update.
- Rebindable Key for the screenshot feature.
- Rebindable Key to open the overlay.
- Galaxy seems to take longer to start up, I assume it's related how Galaxy was changed to handle updates in the background. It was long enough to make me wonder if Galaxy was actually starting.
- Add an way to abort cloud saves from uploading/downloading, if something happens you can't get out of it (it would also be nice if you could configure cloud saves on a game by game basis like updates).
- Galaxy NEEDS to be optimized when installing games, sometimes I've had to sit for nearly 5 min waiting for Galaxy to retrieve the download size, License Agreement, etc. Sometimes this gets boggled down, I assume while it's trying to query all this information from the server. To say this is a pain is an understatement
- As I said before the code for offline, needs to be looked at. I can't tell how many times I get a blue connect button telling me Galaxy is offline, when Galaxy is online and the internet is fine. I click one game page it's fine, I click another and it's telling me Galaxy is offline. Galaxy also takes forever to re-connect if connection is lost, regardless of how many times "connect" is pressed.
- General bug fixes, I strongly recommend the Galaxy team takes a week or two doing nothing but fixing bugs. Even Microsoft has bug bashes, this is a good thing. I can't tell you how many non-critical but problematic bugs I experience nearly everyday with Galaxy. Way to many for a release version, I just assumed most would be ironed in beta.

Other than that, it would also be nice to get what I call "Quality of Life" improvements before moving Galaxy out of beta such as:

- Replace the standard Windows framework around Galaxy, for standard programs it's fine but for something like Galaxy it looks more professional to come up with something that matches the aesthetics of the Galaxy UI.
- Replace the Galaxy Logo menu system. As stated before it doesn't look good, but beyond that it isn't obvious to new Galaxy users that it contains a drop down menu. I have seen many questions from people who can't even find settings in Galaxy because of how hidden you have it. The old system Galaxy used was much better than that and more obvious from a user stand point. I strongly suggest going back to something similar to that or better yet do what 99% of other programs do and add an actual menu bar, perhaps even directly into the titlebar similar to Steam. When in doubt always always follow KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).
- General UI improvements, simple things like replacing STORE, LIBRARY with STORE, LIBRARY, SUPPORT, COMMUNITY. Remove the GOG Galaxy link from STORE... we know what we are using. It's unnecessary.

I realize probably none of this will be done, but I think it needed to be said. If Galaxy is seriously leaving beta then this stuff should be done before that happens.

So, in the light of final 1.2 release, I disabled an option to update to pre-release versions of GOG Galaxy.
And today it "updated" itself to 1.1.30, and now it won't start (probably incompatible or corrupted local game database).

Maybe it's a known issue, but it seems very unintuitive that Galaxy can accidentally downgrade itself and break everything.

In general, it is a bad idea to switch from preview to release channel, especially after a major update like this. The databases and possibly other data that Galaxy client creates change over time and the new client has new database formats which it automatically translates the old data to new on upgrade to 1.2.x. Switching back to 1.1.x means the old databases are in a format not understood by the old client.

You'll have to completely uninstall Galaxy and download the old 1.1.x installer and reinstall it if you want to go back to using 1.1.x. You may also need to manually delete old database files by hand before installing the old release in case uninstalling 1.2.x does not remove them.

Hope this helps.

My expectation is/was that it will update to stable 1.2 when it will be released, not that it will roll back to old version (it's not like you select a branch in Steam, it just an option to receive updates from pre-release channel).
