== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

skeletonbow: New bug with 1.2.1beta update:

http://mantis.gog.com/view.php?id=4879 - Icons missing for some games after 1.2.1beta update
That's an odd one. I just checked one of the games you listed in that Mantis task and the icon showed up right after the initial install. Perhaps it's a caching issue? Not really sure...

Is there a way to force Galaxy to redownload the icon by mucking around with files or somesuch?

Verify & Repair should do the trick. I know it worked for me when I had an actual icon missing and then I fixed it.

Is there a list for screenshot supporting games or a place I can provide feedback on which of my games do not support it?

Pillars of Eternity is not supported, though the overlay works very well.

There is a webcache folder in ProgramData that holds all the icons and stuff for all the games, removing this should regenerate the cache folder. As always, try at your own risk. :P

Does The Silver Case have an icon for you in Galaxy?
hasn't worked since first install.

Hmmm, thanks for the heads up. Should be fixed now but if you want to see it now, please run a Verify & repair check :)

Thanks Judas, merely going to the menu and hovering the mouse over verify and repair without actually clicking on it caused the icons to show up. I dunno if that helps you guys or not, but I did not have to actually verify it and the icon came back. I did have to do that for each game individually though.

Pillars of Eternity is not supported, though the overlay works very well.
In theory screenshots should work with any game the overlay works with I believe, but I suppose there could be something wrong with input interception or something. I'm keeping track of which games the overlay works with and doesn't work with in a different thread in the forums (no data there quite yet though).

If screenshots don't work with some games that the overlay does work with, I could keep track of that in a separate list as well though.

The Galaxy client did create a screenshot directory under C:\Users\;3\Documents\GOG Galaxy\Screenshots\Pillars of Eternity, but pressing F12 does not create a screenshot anywhere. Even though the overlay works well with the game, there is sometimes an issue with loading screens flashing the desktop occasionally. That might be the cause of the screenshot problem. I haven't had time to check other games for a working screenshot feature on my system, but I will soon.

Thanks.

Beta 1.2.1

Is it possible to change so that the files don't get downloaded to the !Downloads folder? I want them to be in the folder named after the game. Now when a game have finished downloading I have to move the files to the main folder created for the game and then delete the !Downloads folder.
I have the Install/Download folder set to "E:GOG Games/". But instead of downloading the files to "E:GOG Games/GameName/", it downloads the files to "E:GOG Games/GameName/!Downloads/".

13xforever: So, in the light of final 1.2 release, I disabled an option to update to pre-release versions of GOG Galaxy.
And today it "updated" itself to 1.1.30, and now it won't start (probably incompatible or corrupted local game database).

Maybe it's a known issue, but it seems very unintuitive that Galaxy can accidentally downgrade itself and break everything.
If you're on Mac, I followed the reply to my post here that fixed it: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_galaxy_beta_2/post5889 . If you're on another OS, I suppose you'll have to find the equivalent stuff to delete.

I would also like to voice that this is a somewhat ridiculous situation to be stuck unable to use GOG Galaxy forever on that machine unless you are able to discover where these files are to delete them. More than two people have likely done this, and some of those people will not have found these forum posts. I don't know if it is possible or plausible, but perhaps the next version of the installer available should include the functionality to correct this situation for such users.
I'm keeping track of which games the overlay is known to work or not work in, and welcome others to participate in the sharing of data of their own experiences of trying to use the overlay in Galaxy 1.2.x. Please share any experiences and whether or not a given game worked for you or not, including any of the games that are already in the list because some games may work for some people and not for others so I am keeping more detailed records privately with which to pull aggregate results from to post in the thread. I will create a public spreadsheet or similar with more details in the future as well:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_what_games_did_just_galaxy_overlay_support_work_with_thread

Everyone is welcome to participate and share what has worked or failed for themselves.
Came in here to report the missing icon glitch, but I see I was beaten.

New bug in 1.2: Age of Wonders used to launch from Galaxy 1.1 no problem however the program starts up and goes fullscreen for a small fraction of a second then crashes every time it is launched.

http://mantis.gog.com/view.php?id=4882
----------
New bug in 1.2: In the game library the custom "tag" management feature no longer works properly within Galaxy nor within the GOG website any more. Previously each game in the library shelf displayed one of the tags visibly which you have assigned to it, however it no longer shows any tags at all. If you click on the down arrow and go to "Assign Tags", all of them are unchecked as if you have never added any of the tags to the given game, and it is like this for every single game.

If however you click on the "TAGS" filter on the filter bar and filter the library to a specific tag, it will filter the shelf and show you the games that you previously configured that tag with. Additionally if you go to "Manage Tags", you used to be able to click on one of the tags and it would immediately bring up the library view and show you the games that matched that tag, now it is non-clickable and does nothing
